Isaiah 40:31 Devotional

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” — Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)

Reflection:

Life can be exhausting. There are days when you feel drained—physically, emotionally, and even spiritually. The weight of responsibilities, disappointments, and unanswered prayers can make you weary. But Isaiah 40:31 reminds us of a beautiful truth: our strength is not our own.

When we place our hope in the Lord, He renews us. The Hebrew word for wait in this verse (qavah) means to trust, hope, and expect. It’s not a passive waiting but an active reliance on God. Like an eagle that soars high above the storm, God empowers us to rise above life’s challenges. He gives us endurance to keep going, whether we are running toward a goal or simply taking one step at a time.

Application:
• If you feel weary today, pause and pray. Ask God to renew your strength.
• Reflect on areas of your life where you need to rely on God more instead of striving in your own power.
• Meditate on this verse and remind yourself that God is your source of energy and endurance.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come to You weary and in need of strength. Teach me to wait on You with trust and expectation. Help me to rise above my challenges and walk in Your power, knowing that You sustain me. Thank You for being my source of strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
