Jimmy Carter showed remarkable dedication and resilience when he arrived to build houses with Habitat for Humanity just one day after suffering a head injury in October 2019. At 95 years old, he had fallen at his home in Plains, Georgia, sustaining a black eye and requiring 14 stitches above his brow. Despite the visible bruising and bandages, he showed up the very next day in Nashville, Tennessee, to take part in Habitat for Humanity’s annual Carter Work Project. Working alongside his wife, Rosalynn, and other volunteers, Carter remained focused on helping build homes for low-income families. When asked why he still came, he said, “I had a number one priority and that was to come to Nashville and build houses.”

His actions inspired people around the world and quickly went viral, showing what true servant leadership looks like. Many praised him for his humility, strength, and unwavering commitment to public service, even at an advanced age. It was a moment that reminded everyone of Carter’s deep moral character and lifelong dedication to helping others.

The best way to explain the statistics that Progress Singapore Party has been pushing for with respect to the 382,000 PMET jobs created for Singaporeans and PRs is through an illustration. Please refer to the illustration as shown in this graphic.

This illustration shows that while the total number of PMET jobs remains unchanged at 100, the number of resident PMET jobs increased from 70 to 75, because 5 jobs were reclassified from foreigners’ jobs to PRs’ jobs. The growth in resident PMET jobs is thus not from new jobs created, but a result of reclassification.

PSP has asked MOM to provide the number of jobs created, stripped of the reclassification effect. This is not an attempt to harp on us-versus-them mentality at all, but an attempt to get the real number of jobs created.
