If I’ve learnt anything at all, it is that when we rise above our fears, we truly can make our dreams happen. My book “Emotional Inclusion, A Humanising Revolution At Work” published by a little over a year ago, had been on my bucket list for years. Its forward, by , the brilliant originator of psychological safety, and Novartis Harvard Professor in leadership management, was a dream come true. I sat on my script for weeks on end before sending it to her, out of fear. Fear of being judged, fear of writing something that was not good enough. I had never written a book before, imposter syndrome had peaked at its best, and yet this fire in me kept on burning to make a difference in this world, no matter how small or big that so-called “difference “ might be. I would go to bed at 9 pm and wake up at 2 am for over a year to write it; it truly screwed up my circadian rhythm for months on end after the book was finished. Yet discipline and rising above my fears, kept me steadfastly moving forward.

To all of you who have the same gut feeling right now, keep on going. We all have wisdom to share to be a force for good in this world. 🩷

👉🏻”Taking care of our mental health is a verb. It’s not a noun. It's dynamic and it’s changing. And so this idea of emotional inclusion that you’ve put forward, is one that is really powerful because it means it’s an invitation.” - Dr. Kathleen Pike

Maybe if we could all start with being honest with each other, instead of wearing our masks of invulnerability on, day in, and day out, then yes, we would really all live in a more palpably better world.

Let’s face it, hiding our emotions from each other, is the greatest disservice of all. We are all human beings navigating, what I call: “ the school of life.” 💙

Last evening was a “pinch me moment” as I had the opportunity to meet and give him a copy of my book, “Emotional Inclusion, A Humanizing Revolution at Work.” A global leader and pioneer in mind-body medicine, he transforms how the world views physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social wellness.

He reminded us that: “we are story tellers and humanity needs a new creative story - not one of hope as that implies despair, but one of collective creativity. We are emotional beings and if we are not waking up to this reality, we are sleep walking towards our extinction.”

Acknowledging, addressing, and expressing our emotions, that it be societally or in the workplace, is indeed something that we need to DO. Because put simply, it is the gateway to creativity, belonging, meaningful connection and so much more.

Thank you to for hosting and to & for so beautifully co-organizing this event, enabling us to immerse ourselves in a transformative talk and meditation with Deepak that has left us all buzzing with— joy!

Embracing each other’s humanness means embracing each other’s emotional realms. There is no bypassing it, no matter how hard we sometimes try—out of fear of being judged, shamed, or simply put, blacklisted. Be unapologetically you, that’s what makes you special, unique, and at the very best: authentic and real. There lies the gateway to human connection, purpose and creativity. Yes, yes—we can all, in our own unique ways, be bold and be brave 🖤

Such a pleasure to finally be able to share my with you! A heartfelt note of appreciation and thanks to for hosting me.

Emotional Inclusion is not some hippie fairy concept, but one that instead, calls for our undivided attention when it comes to the sustainable humanization of our workplace, present and future. When the feeling goes, the thinking goes. Communication without emotion is not effective. Unused creativity is not benign: it’s costly. Staff turnover, lack of engagement, sick days or shall we call them “burn out days!”And it’s deadly. According to the World Health Organisation, 700,000 people claim their own lives every year. It is the fourth leading cause of death amongst 15–29-year-olds, those predominately just kickstarting their careers…

My talk deep dives into the birthplace of Emotional Inclusion, it’s organizational definition and how we can look at marking the change TOGETHER.

To quote the brilliant who wrote the foreword to my book: “organizations that have both psychological safety and emotional inclusion, will make it possible for everyone to contribute and thrive.”
