🎗️September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 🎗️
Before my oldest 10-year-old son, Aaron, was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2020, we used to live in Massachusetts. Back then, September was always so full of promise, spring turning to fall. I will always cherish the memory of Aaron as a preschooler, holding up an orange leaf up to the sunlight and yelling, "Look, Mama! This looks like gold!"
Before Aaron was diagnosed, I knew nothing about the world of childhood cancer. I never knew about the heartbreaking battles fought within the walls of an pediatric oncology ward, the impossibly difficult decisions that parents/caregivers have to make and the crippling anxiety before each scan.
Now, every September, our family stands together with all the other families that have been affected by childhood cancer. Gold represents the courage and bravery of all the little warriors. If you would like to help us raise awareness about childhood cancer, please share this post or reach out to your local children's cancer charities to find out more about how you can help ❤️
