Don’t play the counteroffer game. You’ll lose.

95% of people who accept one? Gone within a year.

Using a competing offer to negotiate might get you a raise now but...

Companies don’t forget.

They’ll keep you today and plan your exit tomorrow.

We’ve seen it happen.

As candidates.
As recruiters.

Your next move should be for the right opportunity, not just the right number.

He didn’t plan to be “King of Singapore.”

In fact, the late Adrian Tan was stuck in his comfort zone for years.

So how did he start writing those legendary posts we still miss today?

This is the surprising story behind his first piece—and how it all began.

“Humble beginnings” has become a punchline.

We’ve heard the speeches.
Seen the headlines.

And for many, it feels performative - like a PR move, not a lived truth.

Min Rahayu Mahzam is different.

Two years ago, I interviewed her.

I asked one simple question:

“Do your humble beginnings give you an advantage?”

She didn’t deflect.
She didn’t perform.
She answered with quiet conviction.

(Watch the clip. You’ll feel it.)

Today, she’s a Minister.

But status hasn’t changed her substance.

Getting to know her off-camera only confirmed what I sensed from that first conversation:

She’s not just in it for the people…
She’s one of them.

Here’s why her leadership hits different:

- She listens - really listens
- She leads with empathy, not ego
- She uses her platform to lift others
- She doesn’t pretend to have all the answers
- She’s lived the struggle - and NEVER forgets it

This is what humble looks like.

Not hashtagged.
Not rehearsed.
Lived.

Because humble beginnings aren’t meant to be a brand.

They’re meant to shape how you show up.

And when you’ve really walked that path?

You lead with your heart.
And it shows.

Agree?

had insomnia when I was 11.

Because that was the year of the PSLE.

I didn’t even know what “burnout” was.

But I knew what it felt like to wake up in the middle of the night,
worried that I didn’t study enough.

In this clip, Minister Indranee Rajah shares her view:

It’s not that parents are cruel or uncaring.

It’s that they’re scared too.

Scared their child might “lose out.”

Scared their love won’t be enough if it doesn’t come with top grades,
enrichment classes, and a place in a branded school.

But here’s the question we both asked:

What’s really best for our kids?

Because being raised with love shouldn’t come with sleepless nights.

Watch the clip.

Then ask yourself—what kind of childhood do we want our children to remember?

"If they can do it, I can too."

She looked at Shanmugam and Davinder Singh—two of Singapore’s most formidable lawyers.

And she thought:

If they can stand in Parliament, debate policies, shape the nation… AND juggle work too—why not me?

So, in 2001, at just 37 years old,

she stepped into politics.

At the time, there were only 4 women MPs.

Four.

Women weren’t just underrepresented.

Their voices were missing from the conversations that shaped the country.

So she stepped up.

Not because it was easy.

But because she knew - women needed to be heard.

Today, women make up 30% of Singapore’s Parliament.

Progress? Yes.

But are we there yet?

Minister Indranee Rajah’s story is a reminder:

Every time a woman steps up,

she opens the door for the next.

Who will you inspire by choosing to go first? 👇

This is Minister Indranee's secret to staying grounded.

It's a trap that keeps many of you stuck:

➡️ Tying self-worth to outcomes.
➡️ Obsessing over comparisons.
➡️ Thinking success will finally bring peace.

But here’s the truth:
Comparison is a losing game.

There will always be someone smarter,
richer, more successful.

Drake said it best:

"Don't let success go to your head,
and don't let failure get to your heart."

(Yes, I actually quoted Drake to a Minister 🙃)

Real success?
It’s not about being better than someone else.

It’s about being so comfortable in your own skin,
you stop needing to compare at all.

Have you ever fallen into the comparison trap?
Let’s talk. ⬇️

"The PAP has NEVER lost touch."

We asked Min Indranee Rajah hard questions:

(and she didn’t hold back.)

🔥 Can we scrap the PSLE?
🔥 Why are parents so stressed out?
🔥 Do women still fight twice as hard to rise?

Minister Indranee is an influential policymaker in Singapore
— and her answers?

They’ll challenge what you know about success, leadership, and the future of work.

You’ll hear about:

↳ Her childhood → She lost her father at 5.
↳ Her take on Gen Z → This one surprised me.
↳ Her Mindset to Hurdles → Everyone needs to hear this!

And so much more...

This special episode is dropping in honour of IWD
—because real change starts with real conversations.

We can’t wait for you to hear this one.

Thank you, Minister Indranee, for your wisdom, leadership, and for showing us what it means to be unstoppable. 💜
