Baldur's Gate 3 has been so fun! Also, sorry in advance for people expecting pro plays and fast gameplay. I am VERY, VERY new to the concept of Dungeons and Dragons, and I am not very good at turn-based games. BUT I am really loving the story, the voice acting and graphics. The animation is so good!

Ran my first ever overseas workshop for lighting in content creation in the Philippines recently at Tier One Entertainment and AMPLFY and had a photoshoot session afterwards. It is always a great experience meeting fellow content creators from around the world!

Shot Ruru アシル the other day in Taiwan for the Zhiyun launch event :D She's an amazing cosplayer and model! I had fun running the lighting in photography/livestreaming workshops there.

Special mention to Practical Magic & Innovations for making such an amazing smoke machine! The SmokeGenie is perfect for my projects. I'd love to have my own someday to make more content!

What’s up team? It’s been a while since I last streamed or posted anything here. I’ve been busy with the day job but man, it’s been an incredible journey working with Zhiyun.

I was in the USA for NAB Show 2023 a couple of weeks ago at the Las Vegas Convention Center, and experienced the wonderful cities of Los Angeles and Las Vegas with a few days spent at the exhibition halls sharing my love for lighting by Zhiyun.

Today, I’m in Dubai to run a couple of sharing sessions on lighting to the wonderful staff of Grand Stores Digital.

I can’t wait to share more about Zhiyun with you guys soon, especially with the MEZARMY community. We’re gonna have some cool photography-related activities soon ;)

“My new business card is a ring.”

Went to the IT SHOW and got myself a new business card - the One Good Ring (Onyx, size 10, and yes I have a big finger).

The One Good Ring is not to be confused with the other one that gives powers at the risk of ruining lives, while being chased by a corrupted Hobbit with very little hair and just clad in an underwear.

How it works: Using NFC technology, you tap it against a compatible phone device and your information opens up on the phone’s browser, allowing the user to save your contact details easily.

Pretty cool tech made by the folks at One Good Card, a local company!

This is a good USB microphone for live-streaming, podcasting and even online conference calls!

The RØDE X XDM-100 dynamic USB-C microphone might just be my favourite mic for live-streaming now.

I’ve always wanted to try a dynamic mic because the noise from my air-con unit can always be picked up by my condenser mics even with noise filters on.

Straight out of the box with Unify app installed on my PC, my voice sounds pretty good already, according to my viewers last night.

The app has a compressor and a noise gate which are easy to set up compared to most filters and plugins including Reaper’s and OBS’s default ones.

The app is simpler to set up than most OBS filters, and there’s a lot of room for adjustments still. One thing I like is how the Unify app can be a replacement for Voicemeeter or similar apps, and it’s available for free too. You can set levels for different applications for different use cases and scenarios.

Just like the RØDECaster Pro, you can play sound effects off it. I can’t really compare the two though as I do not have the hardware (or the budget for one haha).

I just wish the pop filter sleeve also allows us to see the red accents on the mic itself when it’s placed on the capsule itself. Otherwise, it works really well taking away the plosives when you speak into the mic.

The mic also comes with a shock mount and 2 cables - a USB-C to USB-C cable and a headphone extension cable.

By the way, I just feel the headphone jack could have been placed better, like where the USB-C port is at the bottom of the mic near where you can mount it to a shock mount for better aesthetics.

The headphone volume k**b also can be pressed to mute the mic, and a small light indicator helps tell users if the mic is live (blue) or muted (red).

For a USB mic, the XDM-100 performs really well and with its onboard advanced DSP (digital sound processing) system, it’s a solid mic for streaming and podcasting.
