My Story
Hello my name is Noel Boyd. I’m a certified life coach and I have a diploma in psychology. How did I get to where I am today? Well to be honest with you, I did not set out to be a life coach. Nope I didn’t. As a child, I dreamt of being a famous television star and a radio personality. Well I guess I can say I’ve achieved my ambition because my paranormal show has been watched all over the world and I’ve been featured on Channel News Asia and CLEO TV. I’ve emceed events in front of thousands in almost every ballroom in Singapore. So how did I end up having ‘LIFE COACH’ printed on my name card? Let’s back track to the year 2014. I was diagnosed with clinical depression after my fifth su***de attempt. To date, this is by far the darkest of chapters in my life story. I just did not want to live a day longer. I was upset with everyone around me. I didn’t feel loved. The bullying that I experienced in primary school scared me tremendously. I was so broke I couldn’t afford to feed myself. I was tired of being made used of by the people I thought were friends. I took that all important step to get treated. While therapy was such a painful experience, it helped me to look at my life in a different prospective. And with guidance and love from someone dear to me, I got better. It didn’t happen overnight but I am where I am today because of that friend and my wife. This is why the word LOVE means so much to me. Both these ladies thought me everything I now know about love. Well something remarkable happened after my recovery. All of a sudden people started coming to me for guidance. Friends would ask me out for 1-on-1 drinks so they could disclose their life problems. Absolute strangers would approach me at bus stops and coffeeshops to talk about issues they are facing. I recall taking a bus from Ang Mo Kio to Bedok just so I could hear out this middle-aged man. Guess what? I had no intention of taking that bus in the first place and Bedok wasn’t my destination! I used to come home bewildered and tell my wife stories about these random encounters. In reality, the universe was preparing me for the future. All the obstacles that I’ve faced is for a reason. How would I ever relate to someone’s problems if I’ve not gone through them myself? I’ve learnt the hard way that life is never a sprint. It’s a marathon that you’ll do well in if you pace yourself and you continue to work hard at self-improvement. Together, you and I, will conquer this marathon called Life.
