At 2,500 sq ft, this new Thai Market in Jurong is about a quarter of the size of the Aperia mall flagship. This expansion is part of ’s plans to open stores in the north, east and central parts of Singapore.

, now with five outlets, brings in about $3 million in annual revenue. Its owner Mr August Wijaya - now a Singapore citizen - refreshed the menu with new offerings such as Special Pork Katsu Don (inset), Mentai Kurobuta Katsu Set and Chicken Karaage Curry. He plans to expand in 2026 by opening outlets in mall foodcourts, with two in the pipeline. He is also exploring franchising, both locally and abroad.

’s new chef is Taro Takayama (inset), previously from his now-closed Takayama restaurant at OUE Downtown Gallery.
Prices start at $160 for a 6-course lunch and up to $360 for a 9-course dinner.
For the donabe course (main photo), chef Takayama offers sanma or Pacific Saury, terrific with rice cooked in a claypot and topped with shredded miyoga, scallions and umeboshi paste.

.restaurant in Mohamed Sultan Road announced its closure on Sept 26. It earned its Michelin star in 2021 under its previous chef. Current head chef Takeshi Araki has maintained its star since then.
Its pending closure adds to other recent Michelin-starred ones that have closed as well, and notable restaurants such as , which quietly shut down.

’s Eng Hoon Street 60-seat flagship reopened on Sept 26, sporting a new look and dining experience that will roll out across all 19 outlets here over the next 18 to 24 months. This major revamp - the first since opening in 2012 - sets the stage for the homegrown brand’s overseas expansion as well.
Don’t worry, plenty of its popular pastries and sourdough loaves are available, alongside more savoury items and drinks.

The first set of BTS TinyTan toys - with purchase of a Happy Meal (with option to donate it) - launched on Sept 25 at outlets. There are a total of 14 TinyTan toys – with matching character cards – across two sets sold in blind boxes.
At the Bedok Mall outlet, BTS fan Tess Poh (inset) bought 14 Happy Meals. From her 14 blind boxes, she got 6 of the 7 members, and completed her full set by exchanging one of her repeat items with another fan.
