Tired of the endless cycle of intravitreal injections? At EURETINA 2025, experts unveiled some seriously clever detours. Think refillable reservoirs, suprachoroidal shortcuts and even a robot or two lending a hand in the OR.

The days of “poke and poke, again and again” may be numbered. Check out the full story to see what’s next on the retinal drug delivery menu: https://piemagazine.org/smarter-retinal-drug-delivery-euretina-2025/

Day 1 of EURETINA ’s 25th birthday bash rose (like dough) to the occasion, complete with data, drama and enough science to stuff a croissant. From AI in AMD to oculomics on the go, our team in Paris served up the hottest insights from the City of Lights (and lectures).

Here’s what we’re dishing out:

–Opening Ceremony & EURETINA Keynote: Celebrating 25 Years: From humble Hamburg beginnings to 11,000-strong in Paris, the EURETINA society proves it still has the recipe for success, seasoned with AI and awards.

–What’s Next in the Neovascular AMD Playbook: This session proved that nAMD care is never stale. Between gene therapies, telemedicine and next-gen anti-VEGF, this field is rising fast.

–The Slow Burn of Dry AMD: With smarter trial designs and endpoints layered like a mille-feuille, dry AMD may finally be moving from “untreatable” to “manageable.”

– Optomed Plc’s Handheld AI: Lumo Lights the Way: A pocket-sized prodigy in retinal imaging, turning pupils into portals for systemic diagnostics.

–Day 1 Wrap-Up with All the Glazed Highlights: PIE’s full recap of the Paris proceedings, sprinkled with puns, piping hot from the Palais des Congrès and glazed with gratitude for 25 sweet years.

ABOUT

PIE Magazine, published by Media MICE, is a digital publication free for ophthalmologists and eye care professionals interested in the posterior segment in the Asia-Pacific region. PIE covers new technology, procedures, research, diseases, and clinical pearls and wisdom, all relating to the vitreous, retina, optic nerve and other posterior segment structures.

While PIE Magazine is a resource for posterior segment surgeons, it also will provide news and education to general ophthalmologists, many of whom treat back-of-the-eye conditions in Asia-Pacific.

We will publish quarterly digital issues: March/April, June/July, September/October, and December/January. The first issue was launched successfully at APAO Singapore 2017. Each issue is distributed to Media MICE’s proprietary database of ophthalmologists all over the world.
