In this famous scene from Uccello's Battle of San Romano, we see the protagonist on the right taking three attacks, which all seem to deflect off his armour. A lance strike which slides in front of the plackart and under the pauldron reinforce, a couched (under the armpit) sword, delivered like the lance strike, sliding over the upper part of the left pauldron, and (probably) a sword thrust, which in my opinion has probably been deflected upwards by the warhammer arm. It is also interesting to note that the warhammer man is potentially preparing to strike with the beak rather than the hammer, and that he is using the hammer while his sword remains in its scabbard.
