Had a great evening enjoying whiskies from Laphroaig, Macallan, Mortlach and Bowmore as James Mackay, Private Client Director for the Artisanal Spirits Company launched Artisan Casks, a new private cask program in Singapore. Held at the recently opened Raffles Hotel Sentosa we were served a dinner that exceeded expectations. I had the opportunity to join a media tasting at the newly relaunched Burgs. I never had the opportunity to enjoy their burgers in their first incarnation, but a recent visit made me understand why they were popular then, and why they will be a popular destination in the future. A Tik Tok sensation restaurant called chicken raised in a mortar in Jomtien, where the unending lines take customers 35 to 45 min to get in. We tried their signature dishes - roasted chicken, pork neck. 😋 For dessert, there are freshly made mini pancakes filled with your choice of coconut, taro, sweet potato, or corn. We were lucky we didn't have to wait for too long. People come from all over Thailand to eat here!

Luxury shopping mall
Even if you don't need to go shopping for branded items, this mall is a beautiful place to check out. A concept mall- with world market streets- "happiness of the East", bringing famous cities: Paris, London, Tokyo, San Francisco, Pisa & Hollywood, including their landmarks: the Eiffel Tower, Tower of Pisa, Golden Gate Bridge, and other sights. A plane is parked outside the mall. Quite impressive 👏 👌 #🇹🇭

Day trip to@Koh Larn. , Thailand 🇹🇭 ❤️. 30 baht will take you on a ferry running about every 2 hours from Bali Hai ferry terminal in Pattaya to the island.
Koh Larn seems to be a sleepy fishing village about 35 min from Pattaya, but on Sunday it was a buzz with day trippers. Or you can stay overnight as there are lots of mini hotels on stilts in the centre and resorts on white sandy beaches around the island.
It was a cloudy day, but it was comfortable to explore the commercial centre and bump into locals and tourists trying to navigate narrow streets on their motorbikes, hotel golf carts and the occasional tractor used for pulling boats and jet skis into the water. There are many restaurants, ice cream kiosks and shops selling t-shirts, shorts and light dresses and shirts. It is certainly worth exploring.

Crossing the river from Orchid Sheraton Riverside Bangkok to visit the new luxury mall@Icon Siam. The hotel boat leaves every 30 min. The guests can enjoy the free ride exploring the super luxury mall with brand-name tenants. The food court is interesting and shares similarities with in Singapore. The river comes alive with many dinner cruises and floating dance clubs. Bankok at night on the river is quite a lively affair and not to be missed. Icon Siam puts on a light n sound show, which delights the tourists and the locals alike.

A great escape!
A perfect place to stay while in Beautiful Bangkok! Perfect location, perfect view, perfect room. Just relax and enjoy all the amenities that this iconic hotel that has hosted guests for the past 42 years has to offer. Great value. The breakfast has one of the most extensive menus we have seen. No wonder they are always booked.

For those living in Singapore, to really get away from it all with a staycation, one of the best places to go is Sentosa Island. It is not far in distance, but it has the feeling of being somewhere else. Farah and I enjoyed a night in a Verandah Suite at the Amara Sanctuary Sentosa. The feeling of being off the usual beaten path was deepened by a Monsoon Surge that blessed Singapore with more rain in two days than it usually gets in the month of January. The best option was to stay safe and dry in our spacious and comfortable room. Lounging on the verandah I soaked in the sound of the rain cascading off the trees, off the surrounding red tile roofs. Talk about relaxing. We enjoyed the breakfast, especially the omelets. The lady making them was a perfectionist and very consciences about making the perfect omelet. Even if you don't live in Singapore, the Amara Sanctuary Sentosa is a great place to escape to.
