Our two-day Crew Conference brought together our seafarers, partners, stakeholders, and our valued customer CMB.TECH under the theme “Stay On Course Towards Excellence.” The discussions, technical sessions, and owner-led insights reinforced the progress we’ve made.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the open dialogue, collaboration, and learning. Together, we continue steering towards higher standards of safety, performance, and teamwork.

On this International Anti-Corruption Day, we are reminded that integrity starts early. Youth play a critical role in shaping tomorrow’s ethical workplaces by bringing fresh perspectives and the courage to challenge wrongdoing.

At Wilhelmsen, this commitment is reinforced through mandatory Code of Conduct training for all employees, seafarers, and cadets—embedding integrity and accountability at every level.

At the Xinde Marine – Ship Operations and Management Forum during Marintec China, Duke Khoo highlighted a reality many in our industry now share: digitalisation is no longer optional — it has become a fundamental part of modern ship management. From reducing administrative burden to streamlining reporting and decision-making, the real impact is clear: taking the cognitive load on seafarers, allowing them to concentrate on safe, efficient operations. “From paperwork to performance, digitalisation gives our crew more time to focus on what truly matters.”

Our Busan team came together for one of our most cherished traditions — our annual "Kimjang" event. More than just making kimchi, Kimjang is about community, gratitude, and sharing. This year, we were proud to continue the tradition by preparing kimchi together and donating it to neighbourhood groups in need. A heartfelt thank you to our colleagues, volunteers, and community partners who rolled up their sleeves and made this meaningful event possible.

Our 50-year journey as a global ship manager includes many chapters, and the growth of our Korea office is an important one. From five vessels in 2005 to nearly 50 today, supported by 44 shore colleagues and almost 400 Korean seafarers, the team has built a story of trust and dedication.

This spirit shone through at our anniversary celebration in Korea, where employees, partners, and customers gathered for an evening of connection, cultural performances, and shared pride. Traditional drumming and a Daebuk performance added a memorable cultural touch to the night.

Our sincere thanks to TradeWinds for featuring the celebration and the continued growth of our Korea office. Read the article here: https://bit.ly/4rmSJLs

Michael Silies shared his experience deploying an AI-powered video surveillance system onboard to enhance safety — a topic that quickly sparked a healthy discussion on the floor about trust, real-time monitoring, and what “support” truly means at sea.

The takeaway was clear : technology should enable, not overshadow, the human element. AI-powered surveillance becomes most valuable when it helps our crew stay alert, reinforces good habits, and prevents incidents before they happen — not when it replaces judgement onboard.

The room echoed in agreement with Michael’s closing words — a reminder that resonates deeply in our industry: “The smartest ship is only as good as the people who sail her.”
