My Journey — From Selling Anything to Building Something Real
I believe there are people who have followed my story from the very beginning. When I first entered the world of live-streaming, it was all about the hustle. I went live daily, selling almost anything and everything I could get my hands on. But through countless setbacks and moments of reflection, I started to realise—this wasn’t what I truly wanted.
Things began to change when I noticed something special happening on City Boy. Viewers weren’t just buying from me anymore—they were trusting me. Trusting the things I brought on stream, the food I ate, the places I visited. That kind of trust is rare, and I didn’t take it lightly.
So I became far more selective. Every product I introduced had to be personally tested and proven. If I didn’t believe in it, I wouldn’t sell it—simple as that.
I started with food—partly because I have extremely picky tastebuds—and that turned out to be a strength. The food I featured consistently got great feedback. And naturally, that led me into the world of skincare.
Now, skincare is a completely different game. There are so many brands and so many products. Almost weekly, I’d receive samples from companies wanting me to push their products. But I couldn’t just sell for the sake of it. I started studying ingredients—what worked, what didn’t, and what was just hype.
And that’s when I had a big realisation:
I thought I knew skincare. But honestly, I was only scratching the surface.
It was through the process of creating my own brand and developing my own formula that my entire perspective changed. I began to understand how deep and complex skincare formulation really is. This journey has taught me so much—and I know I still have so much more to learn. But I’m committed to this. To learning, evolving, and most importantly, to sharing everything I learn with all of you.

I knew I wanted to build something pure, clean, and effective—where every single ingredient has a purpose. Nothing unnecessary. No filler. Nothing that gives a quick effect but harms your skin long-term. (You’d be shocked how many brands use ingredients like harsh alcohols, artificial fragrances, or certain acids just to give a temporary “wow” moment.)
That’s what led to the idea of my own brand.
I went through countless prototypes—even some from YY's side but after 7–8 versions from him that failed to meet my standards, I had to walk away. Then, I found my current lab partner in Taiwan. The very first prototype they sent? I was in love. But that didn’t stop me from improving it further.
Even just two days ago (29th July), I was still tweaking the formula after attending a biotech fair. When my formulator told me, “You’re really professional, but also way too picky—and only picking expensive ingredients,” I laughed. I think she secretly hates me. 😂
This project has taken over 16 months. We’ve lost count of how many prototypes we’ve been through. A month ago, we sent 50 sets out to friends and buyers I know are super picky about skincare. 85% came back with glowing reviews. The rest gave honest, constructive feedback—which I loved, because it helped me improve the formula even more (three times, in fact).
