We welcome this month with a release that is unconventional to the label, yet unsurprising, as it comes from none other than Dr Foo who is a conscious DJ and musician who curates music for deeper understanding of self and healing. We are honoured to have him aboard the label and hosting his first ever official release.
Many of you may be familiar with his DJ sets as well as music productions where he is able to interweave electronic music (from downtempo to progressive house, trance) with live sound healing instruments, nature sounds, ethnic world music and mantras. It is a reflection of his journey spanning 10 years, starting as an underground club DJ in Melbourne to immersing in yogic journeys in India & Bali, to realising the power of sound when fused with intention to help others.
His journeys emphasise the importance of owning our darkness before true healing and expansion can occur.
In recent years he has curated soundscapes for yoga and meditation events, full moon sound healing journeys as well as Conscious Dance events in collaboration with embodied movement facilitators.
𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲:
This is an organic sound healing journey integrating various live instruments I play with electronic music (synths, samples) and meditative binaural beats. The purpose is to help anyone to listening to ground into the present moment, feel into your deeper emotions and sensations, release tension and soothe your senses.
The sound healing instruments used include Tibetan and Crystal Singing Bowls, Frame & Shamanic Drum, the melodious Rav drum, Sansula, Reverie Harp.
Starting deep with the intention to ground into our raw emotions and mother earth, we immerse in deep meditative drone frequencies and primal humming/drumming before washing away and releasing with more fluid melodic sounds (Rav, synths, flutes). We progress to the heart strings of the harp and find more melancholic introspection to wind down.
Best listened with headphones, to take in the binaural beats and full spectrum of frequencies.
