I've been on different occasions where I would speak to clients or businesses that have no idea why UI and UX design are important or they do not value it enough because all that is needed is a straight-up website made with Wordpress, Webflow etc.
I have invested my time and self-taught why UI/UX is so much used before anything goes online, and I want to apply this to my clients who are interested in making a difference in their business.
The Mix-Up: UI vs. UX
Have you ever wondered why people often use UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience) interchangeably? It's a common misconception, but the distinction is crucial for creating seamless websites and apps. UI focuses on the look and feel, while UX ensures a delightful and user-friendly journey. It's like having a visually appealing storefront (UI) and an effortless shopping experience inside (UX).
I have often said that businesses should put their users first when making a project because they are the ones that will use it and will share their experience with their families and friends. Eventually will make a difference to their competitors.
At FIZ Design, I have done several graphic designs for marketing and renewing the look of their business, and have yet a poor presentation on their website. The common mistakes are too much info, or no icons or colours add so no feeling put into it. It is understandable when there is no time, but at one point it should be made a priority.
Why? Because a visually stunning website or app is just the surface; the real magic happens when users effortlessly interact with it.
Think of it as crafting an immersive story for your audience—every click, swipe, and tap should feel like turning the pages of a captivating book.
Why Not Jump Straight to WordPress/Elementor?
While platforms like WordPress Elementor and others, offer incredible design capabilities, starting with UI/UX design before diving into these tools is crucial. It's about laying a solid foundation. Understanding the user's needs, behaviours, and expectations informs the design process, ensuring the end product not only looks good but functions seamlessly.
Showcasing the DifferenceAccompanying this post is a snapshot that visually breaks down the difference between UI and UX. It's a sneak peek into the intricacies of design and I will be able to show more when I will have time and financial help.
You are welcome to ask me what you would like to have or drop your thoughts in the comments, and let's spark a conversation around UI/UX in the world of design. 💡
