Eric doesn’t live up to the picture I had of him as a Dad, before we had Leo. He absolute blows my expectations out of the water on a daily basis! 🤯🥰 Very, very grateful that I get to raise Leo alongside such a wonderful, patient, emotionally intelligent human (who can also renovate RVs, refurbish side of the road furniture AND cook like a boss!) 👨‍🍳

You know how sometimes you take a photo and the colours are just a bit... lifeless and dull? Lightroom helps to put the real colour (that your 'far-more-complex-than-a-phone' eyes saw in the moment) back into the photo. It's not 'photoshopping'. We're not promoting putting things into your photo that weren't there, and we'd never do that ourselves - this is a process of correcting the light and colour balance so you get a higher quality end result, closer to the real thing. 🙌😉

Happy Canada Day to this country we’ve called our home away from home this past year. 🇨🇦 We’ve travelled your islands, west coastal roads, ski fields, Rocky Mountains and flat plains.
We’ve marvelled at your snow covered peaks and turquoise blue lakes, your waterfalls and your vistas. We’ve spotted your squirrels, orca, bears (from the safety of a car/fence), deer, elk, raccoons and so many other incredible creatures.
We’ve immersed ourselves in your uniquely French province (Montreal is maybe our favourite place yet??) and still, there’s so much left to see...
We may never have the time to see all we want to in Canada, but the impression this beautiful country has left on us already has been indelible. 🧡

🌟 We have some exciting news! 🌟 I (Eric) made a NEW FREE COURSE: Photography for Awkward Instagram Husbands!

But first... back story.

In 2017, I HATED photography. I couldn't 'see' the shot. I couldn't use a camera. I was 100% point and shoot and 100% sucked. Photography felt like it 'got in the way of a good time' and I had no frickin' clue what to do when asked to be in a photo (other than stand there like a total muppet, rooted to the spot). 🤦🏼‍♂️ Then I slowly learned some stuff and grew to enjoy it.

So, this free course is basically for 'me', circa 2017. Or you, now. Or your partner..? The course is irreverent at times, and takes you through the 101's of photography & composition so that you can suck less at taking photos (literally, the first lesson is 'How To Take Photos That Don't Suck') 🤣 and then covers where and how to stand when you're in photos too. It'll basically help you stop feeling so damn uncomfortable in and around photos if that's you.

Photography for Awkward Instagram Husbands is (of course) not just for 'IG husbands', that's just a cheeky catchy title. It's for anyone who wants to learn this stuff. So if you're interested in doing a relatively short (5 lesson) video course ... um... it's free... Get on it. 😉

Guys, WE DID IT. 😭😭 We sold Valour a few days ago and handed over the keys today. And man, has the last week been a journey! This was one of the hardest decisions we’ve made in recent years, not the choice to sell her (we knew we would have to eventually as we’re only on a working holiday visa) but deciding to sell her at the beginning of summer on the west coast (best time/place to sell) instead of on the east coast at the beginning of winter. This would mean a whole summer without having the option to do weekend trips, but our experience storing in big cities meant we knew that she wouldn’t ‘fit’ in Montreal. We couldn’t have it both ways. Also, selling a vehicle like this before leaving a country and without family or friends around to help meant that we needed to call it a season now, to make sure the selling time was as quick as possible.
So we arrived in Vancouver with 4 days to show people through. If we didn’t sell her, we’d have to miss our flights to Montreal so the pressure was on! And thankfully Valour has found a new home, and even though we’re feeling (see our stories for all the 😭) we are ready to start this new season! 👏🏼💕 @ Vancouver, British Columbia

Ok, so cenotes are our new favourite obsession. 💦😍 The beauty of the Grand Cenote in Tulum absolutely blew us away, not to mention the cute little turtles swimming beneath the surface. We swam through the tunnel cave connecting the bigger cenote to the smaller one (pictured above) with Leo and watched the bats overhead and turtles beneath us in the crystal clear water... an incredible experience! We are going to release a YouTube vlog about our trip to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico featuring Leo getting up close and personal with the little guys 🐢 so stay tuned for that if you want insights into what travel is like in southern Mexico with kids! (Hint: amazing) 🇲🇽🙂 @ Grand Cenote

This fine lady turned 30 yesterday! (Late post - too busy out celebrating )

Grace said “please don’t just say I’m kind and sweet” (pfft... as if I ever would 🙄) Truth is, Grace IS sweet and kind. But she’s also so much more. She’s self-confident, ambitious, tenacious, a leader, movement creator, a passionate advocate and friend, straight talker, compassionate and empathetic ear, deep thinker, creative wizard, design fanatic, cultural immersion lover and true-self authenticity seeker. She astounds me regularly with how much she's grown in the latter part of her 20's that I know she will do truly exceptional things in her 30’s.

Guys! Firstly, THANK YOU for your love for Valour. 🙏🏻 We have been blown away by number of lovely messages we’ve received in the last 24 hours, both wishing us well and inquiring about our girl. When we posted that is for sale, we honestly didn’t know what to expect, because she won’t be “free” to join her new family for another 6 weeks... we didn’t know if people would want to wait! But the response has made us realise how special Valour is and we are so happy you guys see her beauty too. 🥰🚐 We are also STOKED to hear that so many of you are jumping into van life! It’s an awesome way of life!
We are still getting back to emails and she isn’t sold YET, but we will keep you posted! I don’t think we’ll be waiting long to find out who Valour’s new family will be though. 🧡
We took our girl out for a spin today and started wondering why we want to sell her? (Don’t worry, we will! 😉) because exploring new places is just so much fun in a home on wheels. It made us nostalgic and dreaming of what could be. And we realised that while this season has been shorter than we thought (we hoped 9 months but it just got too cold in winter, so we did 5 months!), we don’t want to hold on too tightly to Valour, keeping her in storage for ‘just in case’. We live with an abundance mindset, and Valour has brought us so much joy that we want to share that with another family. 💞
And maybe, down the track, we’ll buy another van and renovate it in Australia or somewhere else? Who knows! The possibilities are many, what’s meant to be will be... but right now, we just feel so, SO grateful for you guys and how this platform has brought us together! 🧡 Here’s to a new adventure, for us and another family too! 🚐✌🏻

🌟 Our big news! 🌟 We are selling ! 🚐 We are spending the whole summer in Montréal, and can’t take her with us, so we want another family or couple to adopt her! If you’ve ever dreamed of packing it all up and going on a road trip adventure around North America, this is your chance! 👏🏼
Obviously this is a big decision, as Valour has been our longest ‘home’ yet, since starting full-time travel in 2017. We are feeling all the feels! 😭🥰 We will miss her so much! But since we won’t be spending this summer in the van (some big projects, family and adventure in Montréal are calling us!) we’d rather a new family make Valour your own so she doesn’t sit in storage. 🧡
Our RV is a 1991 Ford Econoline E-350, the engine is a beast and we have always felt safe driving her. She has been checked over mechanically several times since we’ve owned her, and we keep careful records.
We renovated the interior in June 2018, scroll through to see the photos 📸. Valour was upgraded for off-grid , so she has 2 roof-mounted solar panels plus loads of other amazing energy saving features. 💡 We will sell her with all the decor, camping gear and appliances/utensils inside, so she will be live-in ready!
Valour will be available for inspection between the 20-27 May 2019 in Vancouver, Canada.
