𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐃𝐘: 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧?
Zavarovalnica Sava launched and introduced their new brand mascot – cute little Turtle Ava. The mascot was created by the creatives from Yin + Young Ljubljana, while brainylab team took care of the online interactive and playful part.
A mascot represents values, tone of voice, and emotional positioning of the brand. Instead of revealing Ava in a static announcement, we decided to turn the launch into a gamified experience, and we helped them achieve it.

How to present a major design innovation in a way that builds curiosity, creates emotional connection, and generates measurable engagement?
𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲
Short answer? With gamification.
We helped Sava build an interactive and playful presentation of their new mascot Ava.
Key component of the gamification was playful image reveal. When people landed on the campaign page, they didn’t immediately see Ava. Instead, they had 30 seconds to unlock it and reveal her new design through gameplay.
We chose a fast-tapping mechanic to create action, curiosity, and a sense of achievement. Only after completing the challenge, players were rewarded with the fully revealed animated mascot, Ava’s story and personality, and a short interactive quiz reinforcing campaign messages.

The engagement rate exceeded 60%, outperforming the average engagement rates in gamified campaigns. Which shows curiosity-driven mechanics work better than static brand presentations. People replayed the game and actively explored the content.
More than 40% of users subscribed to the newsletter, which is significantly above the usual 20–25% benchmark for gamified activations, proving that playful experiences can translate into meaningful brand relationships.

Instead of explaining the mascot, the campaign triggered curiosity first.

Participation drives higher engagement, stronger emotional connection, and measurable lead generation. When users actively reveal a character, they form a stronger emotional bond than when simply seeing a static reveal.
In conclusion, Sava successfully introduced its new mascot through a playable brand moment.
