WoNARPI continues to stand in solidarity with Aminata Sowa the town chief of Sinjo Malen who is in Pujehun Magistrate Court alleging that she was physically assaulted by a Man and Station Manager of Malen Radio in Pujehun District. She was in court without any legal representation and her last experience with the legal representative of the accused who interrogated her fiercely in court left her very scared, and because of that WoNARPI has gotten her a Lawyer that will be representing her in court as we seek justice. Nobody should be molested because of her gender. We will continue to monitor the progress of the case.

Community Women and men gathered today in solidarity with Madam Aminata Sowa who appeared at the Pujehun Magistrate court in a matter of alleged physical assault by Mr Fofanah of Malen Radio in Sahn Malen. We are seeking for a fair trial regardless of gender or personality. Madam Aminata is a community leader and a town chief of Sinjo Malen. If you touch one woman, you have touched all of them is the slogan. WoNARPI will continue to monitor.

WoNARPI joined other women and communities around the globe to commemorate the International Day of Struggle Against Monoculture Tree Expansion. This year we gathered in Sahn Malen, the Malen Chiefdom headquarter town in Pujehun district. The women were in full gear to spend the day in their own way, some tensions arose but the women won. Women are powerful.
