🚍 BUSES UPDATE: Final Preparations Before Shipment

Great progress from Xiamen, China. Jagaban's Coordinator, Mohamed Kamara, has confirmed that all 25 buses are now at the final preparation stage. They are currently being moved to the washing bay before proceeding to Tianjin Port Terminal for onward shipment.

This marks another important step forward as we continue delivering on our commitment to improved transportation and better services for our people.

The choir of St. Paul’s Cathedral in Kenema has publicly apologized after a musical performance during Holy Mass sparked criticism from both clergy and members of the congregation.

In a statement dated April 13, 2026, addressed to the Catholic Bishop of the Kenema Diocese, the choristers expressed “deep humility and sincere remorse” for the rendition, which many viewed as inappropriate for the liturgical setting.

The incident took place during a Mass attended by the country’s Chief Minister. According to the choir’s statement, the performance was meant as a gesture of goodwill. However, some worshippers felt it gave undue recognition to the guest, straying from the solemn and neutral tone traditionally expected in a Catholic Mass

The Government of Sierra Leone has officially launched the first Eastern Regional office of the Sierra Leone Immigration Department in Kenema. This marks a major step forward in the nationwide implementation of the Unified Permit system.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Rtd. AIG Morie Lengor, stated that the new office will help decentralize Resident and Work Permit services making them more accessible, efficient, and compliant across the country.

He added that the establishment of this office is part of broader efforts to improve service delivery in the immigration sector, especially for residents and businesses outside Freetown.
