I will not sit back and watch anyone put a price on a child’s right to their results.
Following reports that parents were allegedly being asked to pay before collecting their children’s NPSE results, I personally visited Agape School in the Shack-ridden Hills community of Dwazark, accompanied by the Chief Education Officer and the Free Quality School Education Coordinator, to establish the facts on the ground.
However, upon our arrival, the school was closed. Nevertheless, we met with one of the teachers and left a message inviting the Headteacher to report to the Ministry for further investigation.
This visit is part of our firm commitment to the warning issued by the Ministry on 28 July 2026: no school, teacher or school official is authorised to demand money for report cards or results.
Free Quality School Education means removing financial barriers not creating new ones.
If you are asked to pay before receiving your child’s report card or results, ask for an official receipt and report it to us on the Ministry’s toll-free line, 8060. If you have already made such a payment, come forward with your evidence.
We will investigate. We will act. And we will continue to protect every child’s right to education without illegal financial barriers.
