Dr. Saffa Abdulai Launches Kailahun Times Newspaper to Connect his Hometown to the Rest of the World

His love for his people has seen no bounds. The launch of the Kailahun Times Newspaper has coincided with his rolling out of the Kailahun Artificial Turf Installation project, a double impact on a district that has long been forgotten.

The newspaper will celebrate the gains of Kailahun indigenes, report happenings within the district, and link that part of Sierra Leone to the rest of the world.

It is the first known newspaper to have ever been named after Kailahun.

These twin projects are among Dr. Abdulai's ongoing strides to respond to President Bio's call for youth employment and farming.

As the substantive Executive Director of the National Sports Authority, he has been able to create close to ten thousand direct and indirect jobs through sport.

In farming, he has a poultry housing thousands of fertile chickens and a rice enterprise. He is the sole owner of ESA Rice.

His strides in education are just as extensive. From building lawyers to supporting school programmes, Dr. Abdulai has touched thousands of lives from all spectra.

CAF SAFE STADIUM INITIATIVE WORKSHOP SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDES IN BO CITY

The three-day CAF Safe Stadium Initiative Workshop has successfully concluded in Bo City, marking another significant step in promoting safety and security across football venues in Sierra Leone.

The workshop brought together over 40 participants drawn from various key institutions and organizations, including the Sierra Leone Police, National Fire Force, Office of National Security (ONS), stadium managers, and representatives from all 18 Premier League clubs.

Organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in collaboration with the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) through its Safety and Security Department, the initiative aimed at ensuring that Sierra Leone maintains a zero-death record during football matches and related events.

Throughout the three days, participants were trained on a wide range of topics including crowd management, emergency response, risk assessment, evacuation procedures, and coordination among security stakeholders during football matches. The sessions were designed to enhance the participantsโ€™ ability to create and maintain a safe environment for fans, players, and officials.

The closing ceremony was attended by the President of the Sierra Leone Football Association, Mr. Babadi Kamara, who commended both CAF and the facilitators for organizing such a timely and impactful workshop.

President Kamara thanked all participants for their commitment and urged them to take the knowledge gained seriously. He emphasized that the skills and experience acquired during the workshop go beyond national boundaries, noting that participants can build professional careers in safety and security management within and outside the football industry.
