🚨 : NRA FINANCE DIRECTOR SUSPENDED! 🇸🇱
Drama is unfolding inside Sierra Leone’s National Revenue Authority (NRA) after the Senior Director of Finance and Budget, Mr. Ibrahim Joseph Kormoh, was interdicted without pay over allegations of breaching training policies and procedures.
📄 In a letter dated 8th October 2025, the Commissioner General, Madam Jeneba Bangura, ordered Kormoh to hand over all NRA property — including his official vehicle — and barred him from performing any duties during the suspension.
But here’s where it gets interesting 👀👇
Mr. Kormoh reportedly earned a fully-funded three-week senior executive management course at the Harvard Kennedy School of Economics (USA) — a golden opportunity supported by UNDP and at no cost to NRA!
🔥 However, sources say Madam Bangura allegedly refused to issue him a recommendation letter, forcing Kormoh to seek clearance from the NRA Board Chairman, Kabineh Kallon, who later confirmed he gave approval and even instructed the Acting Commissioner to process the recommendation.
Now, controversy is brewing as Madam Bangura insists she did not overturn the Board’s approval, claiming instead that Kormoh bypassed her authority — violating internal policy — and later ignored the disciplinary committee’s summons.
Meanwhile, Kormoh maintains his innocence, saying he only followed the Commissioner General’s own advice to go through the Board!
🕵️♂️ With both sides standing firm, Sierra Leoneans are asking:
➡️ Was this a case of insubordination, or a power struggle at the heart of NRA?
➡️ Did professional jealousy play a role?
➡️ Or is this just another example of institutional politics gone wrong?
💥 Investigations continue!
