‼️‼️What a Disgrace in the Sierra Leone Entertainment Industry!!!
The ongoing divisions within Sierra Leone’s music industry continue to make it unproductive. One of the most worrying trends is the constant infighting, where entertainers seem to invest more of their energy in pulling each other down, especially those making progress, than in building a unified front.
A recent example is the controversial court case involving Famous and Ambassador Kao Denero, along with his associates. What should have been a matter resolved internally by industry stakeholders has instead been dragged into the courtroom, further exposing the cracks within the entertainment community. This incident not only damages individual reputations but also brings the entire industry into disrepute.
According to credible sources, Famous initially sought to resolve the matter amicably. However, under the influence of a few self-serving individuals with no real contribution to the growth of the industry, the case was escalated unnecessarily. Situations like this reinforce public perception of a fractured industry that lacks unity and structure. In other sectors, disputes of this nature are often handled behind internally without sensationalism or public disgrace.
Unfortunately, the negative energy from the divisions is beginning to reflect in public response. The recent event, 'A Night With Stars,' was expected to be a grand celebration of our talent. Instead, it turned out to be a disappointing display of missed opportunities. Despite featuring some of the country's most recognizable entertainers, the event saw poor attendance, a clear indication that fans are losing interest in an industry riddled with internal feuds and disunity. Even the so-called "most loved" being put in front of the show could not draw the crowd.
It makes one to question: how can we expect serious investors to put their money into an industry where ego overshadows excellence and division is the norm?
