The Mayor of Makeni, , has expressed disappointment over President Julius Maada Bio statement that 60–70% of electricity supplied to Makeni is not paid for.

According to Mayor Abubakarr Kamara, the people of Makeni feel disappointed and disgraced by the President remarks, insisting that they do not appreciate the statement. He questioned the basis of the figures, asking where the reported 60–70% non-payment rate came from.

The Mayor further argued that Makeni residents have endured nearly six months without a reliable electricity supply, making the President comments difficult for the people of the city to accept.

*Update from the opposition Leader in Parliament*

I am departing from Pôle Santé de Dakar Clinique Mixte, one of the leading hospitals in Dakar, to accompany Aunty Kay, the wife of our late Chairman of the All People’s Congress, to her residence in Senegal. The remains of our beloved Chairman have now been taken to the mortuary, while arrangements are underway to convey his body to Sierra Leone for a dignified burial. This is a painful moment for the APC family and the nation at large, and we continue to pray for strength and comfort during this difficult time. I also wish to thank the Government of Sierra Leone for the support and cooperation shown throughout this process. May the soul of our late Chairman rest in perfect peace.
