Today's edition of the "Insai Salone" program on Nyapui Radio featured a significant discussion with the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL),

The conversation highlighted several key areas crucial for the integrity and efficiency of the electoral process in Sierra Leone. One of the primary themes was the importance of post-election training and capacity building for ECSL staff.

Thomas Tamba Tailor, the manager for the Kenema district, emphasized ongoing efforts to enhance staff training, particularly in conducting Paramount chieftaincy elections. This initiative is vital to ensure that the team is well-prepared to navigate the complexities of conducting elections, not only within Sierra Leone but also in supporting electoral processes in other countries, such as the recent referendum in Guinea. The discussion also addressed the necessity for electoral reforms, including the introduction of new laws to complement the existing legal framework.

This proactive approach by the ECSL aims to adapt to evolving political landscapes and to address any gaps that may impact the electoral process.

However, the conversation also acknowledged the various risks associated with ECSL's operations.
These risks arise from factors such as political instability, a lack of public trust, and logistical challenges. Tackling these risks is essential for maintaining the credibility of the electoral process and ensuring that citizens feel confident in the integrity of their elections.

Moreover, Thomas Tailor stressed the importance of peace during elections.

He encouraged the public to continue practicing peaceful behaviors and to engage in constructive dialogue, underscoring that a peaceful electoral environment is crucial for the democratic process.

*AdvocAid's Engaged commercial s*x workers and formerly incarcerated women.*

The engagement aimed to explore the challenges and successes of these women, identify factors leading to their circumstances, and find ways to address their difficulties.

Participants shared personal stories, highlighting how financial struggles and difficult family situations often led them into s*x work and also some incarcerated women explained reasons led them to prison like micro credit and Allegations that they new nothing about. They discussed various challenges, including health risks, violence, societal stigma, and Allegations about police maltreatment.

Many reported feeling isolated due to discrimination from their communities and families, which hindered open discussions about their experiences.

The group has created a supportive network, allowing participants to share coping strategies, resulting in some reducing their involvement in s*x work.

They called for better support from NGOs, stakeholders, police and Government of sierra Leone in advocating for the decriminalization of petty offenses and an end to exploitation of vulnerable women.

AdvocAid and the women emphasized the need for sustainable initiatives that empower them and promote their rights, including skills training. Their slogan, "You touch one, you touch all," reflects their interconnected struggles and the importance of collective support.

The engagement calls for collaboration among stakeholders to create a safer, and more supportive environment for commercial s*x workers and formerly incarcerated women.

Football as a Field of Hope: Insights by Abdul Wahab Bangura. He made this statement Yesterday in an hour Radio discussion with Nyapui Radio 106.1 FM Kenema .

The highly anticipated football tournament to kick off at 4:30 PM at Kenema City Field on October 23-24, 2025, with the finals scheduled for Sunday.

Sierra Leone is currently facing a deepening crisis as it battles the pervasive influence of drugs, particularly "kush," which is wreaking havoc in many communities.

In response to this pressing issue, . Ibrahim Bangura has launched a project titled HUB, under the initiative "KICK KUSH OUT OF SIERRA LEONE." In a special radio discussion with Nyapui Radio, Abdul Wahab Bangura, the National Coordinator for Friends of Dr. Ibrahim Bangura and an aspiring flagbearer for the All People's Congress, emphasized that one effective way to combat drug abuse is by bringing football to the doorstep of both the youth and the elderly. The primary aim of this initiative is to deliver a powerful message about the negative effects of kush and other harmful drugs.

Abdul elaborated that the Dr. Ibrahim Bangura Trophy 🏆 football tournament aims to engage and educate young girls and boys, as well as elder generations. He noted that one effective means of spreading this positive message is through football matches, where teams from all regions will converge in Kenema to participate.

He further highlighted that Dr. Ibrahim Bangura is not just a politician but a humanitarian who has supported numerous young people throughout his tenure as a university lecturer and beyond. Abdul also pointed out that the tournament will showcase the legacy of both former and current leaders in the APC, with each team representing prominent political figures such as Siaka P. Stevens, Joseph Saidu Momoh, and Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, alongside the main supporter of the match, Dr. Ibrahim Bangura.

Abdul emphasized that the trophy is meant for everyone, transcending political, regional, or ethnic divides, and aims to ensure that all Sierra Leoneans feel included in this event.
He assured that security measures will be in place to guarantee a safe and enjoyable experience.

In closing, Abdul called on everyone to join Dr. Ibrahim Bangura in the fight against the devastating impact of drugs in Sierra Leone, stressing that this initiative is not politically motivated but is a collective effort to support and uplift the country.
