To
Sierra Leoreans,
I am writing this letter because of everything that has been happening lately. Deep down, I feel like I have been treated unfairly and my school has also been done the same.

Since I entered SSS1, my ultimate goal has been to pass WASSCE with flying colours and study medicine afterwards. Like many others I put in a lot of efforts but right now, I am in limbo.

There might be rumors that I was involved in examination malpractice, but I can honestly say I wasn’t. This is not the first time good students from my school have fallen as victims and if WAEC is not stopped, it will be the last.

The educational system right now has become difficult due to actions like this and this has made many students dropped out of school.

It is really hard right now, not only for me but also for some of my friends who are going through this same thing, that is why I am really pleading to the authorities involved to investigate fairly because I believe we deserve answers and justice.

October 23, 2025

Jendema Border Crossing Point

In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, NRA customs officers at the Jendema Border Crossing between Sierra Leone and Liberia have arrested a Guinean woman carrying 91 parcels of a substance suspected to be co***ne. The arrest took place on October 23, 2025, after heightened vigilance measures were implemented at the Jendema Customs Post led by Mujiru I.I. Kallon, Manager at Customs Services Department, Jendema Border Crossing Point and Head of Border Operations for Sierra Leone.

The suspect, identified as Laurancia Kolie, traveling with Guinean passport number 005017470, was detained at the customs checkpoint after successfully passing through multiple security checks along the route. The substantial quantity of suspected narcotics was discovered concealed among her belongings during the final inspection.

Following the seizure, both the suspect and the confiscated evidence were promptly handed over to the Mano River Police Division for further investigation and legal proceedings. This operation underscores the commitment of NRA customs officials to intensify efforts in combating drug trafficking and protecting the integrity of national borders.

Border management agencies including NRA have reiterated their resolve to maintain strict surveillance and enforcement at all border points to prevent the illicit movement of drugs and other contraband, reinforcing national security and public safety.
