Today, the CEO of Salone Spotlight Blog, together with the team, travelled to Kailahun Town to visit our youngest reporter, Alhaji Kanneh, and provide him with essential equipment to support his work in professional blogging.

Among the material presented a tripod, mobile phone, microphone, branded jacket, and other blogging accessories designed to enhance his capacity to gather, document, and report information professionally.

Alhaji Kanneh was visibly excited and deeply appreciative of the support. Receiving the equipment made him feel valued and special among his peers, while also motivating him to take his responsibilities as a young reporter more seriously.

This initiative reflects the commitment of Salone Spotlight Blog to investing in young talents, empowering emerging journalists and content creators, and creating opportunities for professional growth beyond the city.

Special appreciation goes to our able CEO MR Tommy Bockarie for demonstrating strong leadership and for recognizing the potential in our youngest reporter. Meet Michael Brima – a passionate and dedicated footballer from Kenema.

His journey started at the great Government Secondary School, Kenema and since then he has given his all on the pitch for:
Alpha Lions FC, Frances FC, Kamboi Eagles, Bo Rangers, Blackpool FC, Kawula Rangers, and Lumbebu United.

Michael has the skill, the discipline, and the heart. What he needs now is OPPORTUNITY

SLASA KAILAHUN DISTRICT CONDEMNS VIOLENCE AGAINST AMARA B. MORQUI

On 18th August 2026, the Single Leg Amputee Sports Association (SLASA) Kailahun District expressed strong condemnation over an alleged assault involving their player, Amara B. Morqui.

According to the statement, Amara was allegedly attacked with a razor blade by Mamie Caulker during a hearing on Monday, 17th August, in Ngiema, Luawa Chiefdom, Kailahun District. The incident reportedly resulted in an injury to Amara’s forehead.

The matter has been reported to the Kailahun Police Station, where investigations are ongoing. Amara is currently receiving medical care at Kailahun Government Hospital and is said to be responding to treatment.

SLASA Kailahun has informed its national body and taken steps toward legal action. The association is appealing to relevant legal institutions and authorities to ensure that justice is served for Amara B. Morqui.
