Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai Outlines Vision for Success as New Executive Director of National Sports Authority:

In a recent address at the National Sports Authority (NSA) Headquarters in Freetown, the newly appointed Executive Director, Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai Esq., expressed his commitment to leading the Authority towards a successful future.

Dr. Abdulai highlighted his vision for the NSA, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and collaboration across all sporting disciplines in Sierra Leone. During his inaugural address on Tuesday, he unveiled six pillars that will guide the Authority's efforts to deliver sports programs and initiatives effectively throughout the country.

"I am honored to take on the mantle of leadership at the NSA, and I am fully dedicated to working with all stakeholders to advance sports in Sierra Leone," Dr. Abdulai stated. "Together, we will focus on these six pillars to ensure that our efforts are strategic, impactful, and inclusive."

🔆 Key Pillars of Dr. Abdulai's Vision:

1. Capacity Building: Dr. Abdulai emphasized the importance of investing in the development of athletes, coaches, and sports administrators to enhance their skills and capabilities.

2. Establishing a Court of Arbitration for Sports: To ensure fairness and resolve disputes in the sporting arena, Dr. Abdulai proposed the creation of a specialized court dedicated to handling sports-related legal matters.

3. Transparency and Accountability: Dr. Abdulai stressed the need for transparency in all operations of the NSA, promoting accountability and good governance practices.

4. 30% Quota for All Sports: In a bid to promote gender equality and inclusivity, Dr. Abdulai announced a groundbreaking policy to ensure a 30% representation of women in all sports activities and decision-making processes.

5. Encouraging Sporting Associations to Organize National Competitions: Dr. Abdulai highlighted the importance of fostering a competitive spirit among sporting associations by encouraging the organization of national-level competitions to unearth and nurture talent.

6. Devolving Sports: Dr. Abdulai proposed a decentralized approach to sports management, empowering local communities and regions to take ownership of sports development initiatives.

The pillars outlined by Dr. Abdulai are expected to serve as a roadmap for the NSA's future activities, promoting excellence, participation, and development in sports across the nation. Under his leadership, the Authority aims to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and growth within the sporting community.

Representatives from various sporting disciplines present at the address expressed their support for Dr. Abdulai's vision and pledged to work closely with the new Executive Director to achieve the goals set forth for the NSA.

The Sierra Leone Football Association concludes statutory constitutional reassessment process on Tuesday 19th March 2024, at the SLFA secretariat in Kingtom, in the country capital city, Freetown.

Sierra Leone Football Association President (SLFA) *Thomas Daddy Brima* was today Wednesday, March 19, 2024 briefed on the conclusion of the SLFA Constitutional Review. The process officially ended at the SLFA Secretariat in Kingtom, Freetown. FIFA, the governing body of world football, played a crucial role in guiding the review process, sending two of its governance officials- *Ahmed Mohamed Mohamed Mokhtar Harraz* and *Mohamed Khaled Amin Elshawarby* to ensure alignment with FIFA's governance standards.

The meeting, attended by Vice President-1 *Harold Nat-Johnson*, and two Executive Committee members- *Prince Saquee and Brima Jalloh*, marked a significant milestone in SLFA's efforts to enhance its governance framework. The reviewed statute, once approved by Congress, is expected to bring about essential changes aimed at improving transparency, accountability, and efficiency within the association.

Also present were SLFA Acting General Secretary Mohamed Benson Bawoh and two of the Constitutional Review Committee members Angella C. Gabbidon and Alhassan Idriss Bangura.

In his statement, President Brima expressed his gratitude to FIFA for its support and guidance throughout the review process, emphasizing SLFA's commitment to implementing the recommended changes. He highlighted the importance of the reviewed constitution in strengthening football governance in Sierra Leone and ensuring the association's compliance with international standards.

The use of the reviewed statute is now pending approval by SLFA's Congress, which will convene to discuss and vote on the proposed changes. If approved, the new constitution will mark a significant step forward for football administration in Sierra Leone, setting the stage for a more transparent and accountable governance structure.

One of the best football academy in Sierra Leone, Tk Born and Raised Academy based in Makeni, will be the country solo representative in the 2024 Cheetah Cup championship in Accra, Ghana.

The Sierra Leone based Football Academy participation was confirmed by the CFC local organising committee website and social handles this week.

This will be the Tk Born and Raised Academy -SL, first international tournament they will take part in and as preparation intensifies, this medium understands that the academy has recalled some of their graduates loan to major clubs in country to start training ahead of this lucrative tournament set to take place between 18th to 25th August this year in Ghana.

The Cheetah Cup has attracted nine countries in West Africa and more than 55 clubs from these countries.

The Bombali District Football Association-Youth Football Committee in collaboration with Tk Born and Raised Academy will conduct a one day Open Football Trails for youth players in the district from age 12 to 16, free of charge.

Date: Friday June 16, 2023.

Place: Makeni Wusum Field

Time: 8:00am - 12:00pm

Successful Players will be taking to the academy to continue their football development.

Coaches and Parents/guardians are encouraged to release their players/children on that day, to show case their football talents.

TK BORN AND RAISED ACADEMY PENS DOWN SIGNATURE ON MOU WITH FIVE JUNIOR FOOTBALL CLUBS IN MAKENI

The first ever private football academy in Bombali District named after it founder "TK Born and Raised Academy" was established six years ago with its headquarters in Makeni.

Since then, it has been able to house more than fifty young players through it sport and education programs, to the level of producing one of the finest youth football team, that recently reached the finals of the BDFA Ramadan Trophy 2023 and also producing lots of young footballers, which some have received call ups to national youth teams and others playing for elite football teams across the country, since it started operation in 2018.

Six years on, as part of it aims and objectives has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with five junior football clubs on Saturday 10th June 2023 at the Wusum Field in Makeni, in a well attended ceremony that attract officials from the region and district FA, stakeholders of football clubs and many young players.

The five youthful clubs that went into an agreement with the academy are; Sektars Academy FC, Young Moon Light FC, Rising Stars FC, Me and My Boys FC and Rogbom Kasama FC all in Makeni.

During the signing ceremony of the MOU between TK Born and Raised Academy and the clubs, the secretary general of the NERFA, Abdul Rahman Kamara applauded the initiative taken by the management of Tk Born and Raised Academy to enter into an MOU with these clubs and encouraged the clubs to reciprocate the same for the growth of the game not only in the district neither the region but the country as a whole.

Donation of football materials worth four million old leones and four thousand new leones and the signing of the agreement by the academy manager, clubs representatives and the secretary general of the Bombali District Football Association (BDFA) climax the ceremony.
