The Makeni City Council today convened its 8th Ordinary Council Meeting, bringing together councilors, core staff, Ward Development Committee members, stakeholders, media representatives, and members of the public. Deputy Mayor Ibrahim Nelson Kamara, presiding over the session, opened the meeting by acknowledging the presence of all attendees. He informed the council about the absence of His Worship the Mayor, who is currently on an official trip to China as part of the Global Development Initiative focusing on agricultural products and food security. The Deputy Mayor expressed gratitude to the Chief Administrator, Daniel B. Kpukumu, and the council staff for their resolute support in managing the city’s affairs, particularly in the area of waste management, during the Mayor’s absence. He urged the councilors to encourage their communities to practice proper waste disposal to maintain the city’s cleanliness.
