Today at the Bauya Kongbora Court Barray, Hongtai Mining Company successfully carried out its Surface Rent Payment to landholding families within the concession area in Kongbora Chiefdom, Moyamba District.
The engagement brought together key authorities including the District Officer (D.O), Assistant District Officer (A.D.O), the LUC of Moyamba Police Division Madam Sai Sandi, civil society representatives Mr Gerald Anthony Foday, section chiefs, and members of the community.
Authorities emphasized coordination, peace, and proper management of the funds, Police advised families to ensure security and make good use of the money, the Civil society chairman Mr Gerald Anthony Foday encouraged a strong and peaceful relationship between the company and the people.
The company’s manager raised concerns over theft of fuel and other properties, calling for community support
In a strong show of appreciation, community members praised Hongtai Mining Company, describing it as one of the highest employing companies in the area contributing greatly to local livelihoods.
