CEO Sia Sonsiama: A Woman Who Stood for Justice
CEO Sia Sonsiama, proprietor of Musu Bar and Restaurant along Old Yengema Road, deserves recognition for her courage in standing for justice during the tragic r**e case involving a child at Sandor Street.
Sadly, the child lost her life, but justice eventually prevailed through the courts. The individual involved was sentenced, and the child’s mother was also sentenced in connection with the case.
Her courage to speak up and stand for accountability deserves to be acknowledged. Kono needs more women who will stand for justice and protect the vulnerable.

The PPRC statement of 17 August 2026 essentially means that the current APC executive remains in control of the party for now.
What the PPRC is saying
PPRC previously extended the tenure of the APC elected executive by six months.
This was done through directives issued on 13 February 2026, relying on Section 39(5) of the Political Parties Act 2022.
PPRC had also given a second directive.
After the six-month extension, if the APC executive failed to take the party to a National Delegates' Conference, the affairs of the party would be managed by the APC Leader in Parliament together with five MPs representing each region until the delegates' conference.
That second directive is now on hold.
The reason is that a member of the APC has taken the PPRC and the APC to court over the directive.
Because the matter is before the court, PPRC says it cannot implement the second directive for now.
Therefore, the status quo remains unchanged.
In simple terms
The current APC executive is still legally/administratively running the affairs of the party pending the court's decision.
The PPRC is not saying that the APC executive has received a fresh permanent mandate. Rather, it is saying that because the court case is pending, it will not activate the proposed interim arrangement involving the parliamentary leader and regional MPs.
Important political implication
This statement does not by itself settle the APC's 2028 flagbearer issue, nor does it determine who can or cannot contest the flagbearer election. It is primarily about who controls the affairs of the APC while the tenure/party-conference dispute is before the court.
So, the key sentence is:
“The current executive members will continue to run the affairs of the party, pending the decision of the Court.”
In short: No immediate change in APC leadership structure. The current executive stays in place until the court determines the matter.
