Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, the Chief Minister of the Republic of Sierra Leone is the only SLPP Flagbearer, APC members and supporters would vote for when elected as Presidential candidate; because of the rapport and relationship he has built with the APC Party cadre during the tripartite negotiations and other engagements.

The relationship Dr. David Sengeh has established with the APC party members was not cemented out of political expediency, but it was devised out of a necessity to promoting Peace, Unity and National Cohesion.

The tripartite committee is a product of the agreement for national unity, which was borne out of the desire to promote electoral reforms that would eventually prevent electoral disputes in the conduct of future elections.

As the Chief government negotiator in the agreement for national unity, Dr. David Sengeh has won the trust and admiration of APC stalwarts and national officers by way of disagreeing to agreeing with them, in the spirit of positive compromise, in order to promote the interest of all Sierra Leoneans.

By being the SLPP Flagbearer for the forthcoming 2028 Presidential elections, the Chief Minister would employ political persuasion and the unshakeable trust reposed in him to influence APC loyalists to cross-carpet to the SLPP.

Dr. David Sengeh further commands huge following amongst APC ordinary supporters in their perceived strongholds, which is evident by the massive following attracted to him during visits to places such as Bombali, Tonkolili, Kambia, Port Loko, Karene, Koinadugu and Falaba districts.

The Chief Minister’s approach to political canvassing is guided by his Radical inclusion policy which incorporates and captures the wishes and aspirations of citizens, irrespective of political conviction as encapsulated in the national development plan.

In conclusion, in as much as the Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh has demonstrated the ability to convert large number of APC members and supporters into the SLPP fold, is there anyone better than he to lead the SLPP as its Flagbearer in the 2028 Presidential elections?

PRESIDENT BIO WILL NEVER HANDOVER PRESIDENTIAL AUTHORITY TO APC

President Julius Maada Bio has categorically stated in some gatherings that he would never handover Presidential Authority to the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) political party.

The only feasible way that the APC can be incorporated into the Executive Arm of Governance is to allocate them about 20% of cabinet positions in Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

President Bio substantiated his proposition with the assertion of labeling the APC as a Party that is unworthy of governing Sierra Leone and a party that is deservingly pitiful for it very self.

When the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) brought independence for Sierra Leone on a fountain of popular democratization, the APC eliminated the democratic political space, by abolishing multi-party political contests, through the imposition of a one party state.

The 24 years misrule of the APC led to the brutal civil war, until President Bio restored Multi-Party democracy in 1996, by making a swift change from a military transitional government to a civilian constituted SLPP administration.

The SLPP reign of Late President Ahmed Tejan Kabbah ended the civil war and relentlessly positioned the country on the trajectory of socio-economic transformation through the creation of state institutions and an ambitious revamping of the country’s infrastructure.

Despite inheriting a buoyant economy through the cancellation of foreign debt and the incessant flooding of aid and foreign direct investment, the corruption and mismanagement of the APC Ernest Bai Koroma led government left the country in economic doldrums through the imposition of austerity measures.

The APC is renowned for destroying the democratic and socio-economic gains originated by the SLPP, of which President Bio has avowed to take a complete departure by NOT handing over Presidential Authority to the APC.

It is a well-known fact that the APC only wins elections in Sierra Leone through election malpractice, cancellation of election results, violence and bad political alliance with ill- motivated political parties.

The decision of President Bio NOT handing over Power to the APC is informed by the current political reality, which has seen the ruling SLPP garnered substantial number of votes in the Western Area, Northwest and Northeast Regions, as compared to the APC which is unable to replicate likewise in the Southern and Eastern Regions, in any given elections conducted in Sierra Leone.

This morning, Sierra Leonean youths across the country have concluded an in-camera endorsement meeting at Aberdeen, in the West End of Freetown, for Dr. David Moinina Sengeh to succeed President Julius Maada Bio.

The youths in Sierra Leone constitute the largest age bracket in the general population and their endorsement as the largest voting bloc in general elections, seals the fate of Dr. David Moinina Sengeh as the most popular politician to succeed President Julius Maada Bio.

Most of the youths have special liking and close affinity with Dr. David Sengeh, for the simple fact that he is a youth himself who can seek their interests and the nation in general, when elected as the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

Some youths are in awe of Dr. David Moinina Sengeh`s humanitarian heart, particularly when he paid the fines of many prisoners across the country to secure their freedom, a benevolent gesture unprecedented for any politician to perform in Sierra Leone.

Others blessed the Chief Minister for supporting the resumption of professional male and female football leagues, a move that has provided gainful employment for thousands of youths across the country. The primacy attached to sports by the Chief Minister is yielding dividends, leading to the winning of many laurels for Sierra Leone in international sporting tournaments.

A substantial number of youths lauded Dr. David Sengeh for his success in rolling out the Free and Quality Education Programme, and for facilitating the granting of National and International scholarships, in order for Sierra Leoneans to pursue their educational dreams in tertiary institutions at home and abroad.

The Chief Minister of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh has carved an impeccable relationship with political parties, (including the SLPP) making him the most suitable candidate to succeed President Julius Maada Bio in the 2028 Presidential elections.

In 2021, he was charged with the mandate to organize lower level and national executive elections for the SLPP, where he successfully conducted credible and violence free elections to the admiration of all and sundry in the party.

As chairman of the SLPP constitutional review committee, he is engaging with every structure and segment of the party (including diaspora branches) to devise a new constitution that is democratic and one that is in tune with the wishes and aspirations of members and supporters.

As the lead negotiator of the government in the tripartite negotiations, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh has forged a rather challenging but respectful and harmonious relationship with the main opposition APC.

His relationship with the APC executive and potential flag bearers prompted an invitation from the party secretariat, where Dr. David Sengeh was graciously welcomed at the APC party headquarters at Old railway line, Brookfields, Freetown, without bringing along close protection security guards.

Dr. David Sengeh was very instrumental in persuading the APC to end their boycott in order to kick starting political participation in the legislature after suspension of Parliamentary involvement in the aftermath of the 2023 general elections.

In the APC stronghold of Makeni, Dr. David Sengeh is been cheered by APC supporters and sympathizers whenever he visits the city on government engagements.

SLPP DELEGATES HOLD CLOSED DOOR MEETING LAST NIGHT TO FULLY ENDORSE DR DAVID MOININA SENGEH AS FLAGBEARER FOR 2028 ELECTIONS

At a closed door meeting held on the 12th November 2025 at one of the delegates’ residence on Pademba Road in Freetown, delegates present unequivocally agreed to support Dr. David Moinina Sengeh as the Flagbearer of the Sierra Leone People`s Party (SLPP) during the 2028 general elections.

About 1,020 delegates voted for the current national executive, majority of whom were present at the meeting representing different constituencies, districts and regions across the country.

Other delegates who joined the meeting through digital conferencing anchored by the Sankara Media were those from the diaspora and other affiliate groups that have delegate status to vote during the Flagbearer elections.

Additionally, the Diaspora blocs including affiliate support groups that are accorded with voting rights at the SLPP Flagbearer elections unanimously endorsed Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh to succeed President Bio.
Prominent among the reasons given by the delegates for his endorsement is his quality as a peace builder and unifier.

Many delegates endeared to endorsing him, because he reaches out to them and listens to different shades of opinion in his current role as the Chairman of the SLPP constitutional review committee and they described him as the fittest to continue with the vision of President Julius Maada Bio.

Some delegates were impressed by Dr. David Sengeh's unique role in the Bio led administration as the pivot of governance delivery programmes in respect of his diligent supervisory role of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA's), to deliver on the performance contract he signed with different Cabinet Ministers.

Other delegates were attracted to him due to the fact that he has successfully accomplished international assignments on behalf of the Government and People of Sierra Leone on several bilateral and multilateral engagements in the African continent and elsewhere around the world.

A significant number of delegates threw in their endorsements because of Dr. David Sengeh's generosity and open door policy by way of providing moral and financial assistance to Party members, sympathizers and supporters.

Apart from his role in Government and the support he renders to the SLPP, its members and supporters, other delegates saw him as a national figure that cuts across the Political, Regional and Ethnic divide. Therefore, their endorsements stem from the fact that the Chief Minister of the Republic of Sierra Leone Dr. David Moinina Sengeh is a Symbol of National Unity and Cohesion.
