One Woman Remanded for Alleged Larceny

Magistrate Solomon Christian Kekurah of the York Magistrate Court has remanded a 37-year-old woman, Fatmata Feika, at the Waterloo Correctional Center for allegedly stealing items entrusted to her.
The defendant is charged with one count of larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the prosecution, the offence occurred on the 31st October 2025, in the Eastern Police, Freetown Judicial District. The witness for the prosecution told the court that she handed over several items to the accused, including twelve bedsheets, one hundred polo shirts, twelve ladies’ dresses, an iPhone 8 Plus, and cash amounting Le 5,000. The total value of the properties is estimated at Le 13,100.
She testified that she briefly stepped out to buy pepper for their business partners in the upcountry, but upon her return, Feika was nowhere to be found. Despite searching for her, the accused could not be located.
The defendant Feika, however, pleaded not guilty, claiming that some of the items were given to her for sale and denying any intention to steal.
Magistrate Solomon Christian Kekurah remanded her and adjourned the matter to the 25th November 2025.
