Why did Sheikh Ahmadou Bamba choose to celebrate the day he was arrested, which marked the beginning of the hardship he went through, and not the day he was freed from the calamity and achieved his goals?
Of course, the Sheikh was thankful for the hardship Allah placed in his way in life itself, because through quiet endurance, he rose above everyone and attained his goals.
To reign as the best of all, it is essential that we train ourselves to reach our highest potential, envision living our lives to the fullest, exert great effort to attain the highest level of excellence, set our sights on achieving the best, and pay close attention to identifying the best.
Avoid blindly following the best in pursuit of the best, and instead derive satisfaction from remaining authentic to yourself to surpass the best.
Life is a journey; patience is the vehicle driven by dedication. Our goals are our motivation. Devotion is our source of energy, not just to reach our destinations but even more to live beyond our ambitions.
Throughout history, we are accustomed to seeing the greatest leaders being patient while going through hell, and lifting their hands to the sky to celebrate their days of glorification.
In this case, the Sheikh isolated himself from the rest by choosing the day marked as the first day of the hardest period in his life as commemoration.
He stood in a league of his own, embodied a galaxy of his own, and possessed a depth of his own.
