He mentioned agreements made by the government that had not been presented to the parliament, and he explained in detail the economic interests Turkey has in Somalia. He compared the impact of this economic involvement to what it could mean for Somalia. Every word he spoke was backed by a prepared document that he was reading from. He also highlighted and provided evidence of past mistakes and agreements that the parliament had hurriedly approved without thorough discussion. He concluded his speech with a proverb: "Oh God, did I not tell you?" If there had ever been any doubt that some members of parliament could not debate, today, watch how this young man speaks with conviction.
