Three Indian seafarers killed in Gulf of Oman tanker strikes
Three Indian seafarers have been killed after US strikes hit commercial tankers in the Gulf of Oman near the Strait of Hormuz, according to officials, as tensions rise over maritime security in the region.
US Central Command says it targeted three vessels this week, including the Marivex, Settebello and Jalveer, as part of operations against Iran-linked shipping. It said warnings were issued before the strikes.
India has condemned the attacks and called for restraint, urging an end to such incidents as concerns grow over civilian safety and global trade routes.
