Famous Artist Aluel Manyiel Rou Awarded 28 Bulls in Aweil.
Renowned South Sudanese artist Aluel Manyiel Rou has been honored with 28 bulls by the communities of Aweil in recognition of her dedicated song to Mading Aweil.
The award ceremony took place during a dinner held at the Council of Ministers in Aweil.
Speaking at the event, Governor Charles Madut Akol expressed his appreciation to Aluel for recognizing and celebrating the state through her music.
He also called on South Sudanese artists to promote positive messages through their songs, encouraging unity and discouraging hate speech. In addition to the bulls, the governor presented the artist with a special bull named โMadingโ and two plots of land in Aweil Town.
The Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abuk Jiel Dhieu, congratulated Aluel Manyiel Rou for her meaningful contribution through music.
Former Minister of Investment and member of the Aweil Researchers and Academics Forum (ARAF), Hon. Dr. Dhieu Mathok Diing, also praised the artist for her dedication to the people of Mading Aweil.
He commended Governor Akol for his leadership in promoting peace and harmony in the state.
Dhieu further urged South Sudanese artists to avoid songs that spread hatred and instead focus on messages that inspire unity and development.
The State Minister of Youth, Culture, and Sports, Hon. Bol Akuar Gumer, welcomed the artist and reiterated the governmentโs commitment to supporting musicians who promote peace and unity.
In her remarks, Aluel Manyiel Rou expressed gratitude to the government and the people of Northern Bahr el Ghazal for the honor.
She explained that the inspiration for her song came from her experiences with the people of Mading Aweil, whom she described as peaceful. She pledged to remain thankful to them throughout her lifetime.
