An Open Letter of Appreciation
To the elders, youth, friends, supporters, iand members of the Tonj and Twic Mayardit communities,
I extend my sincere gratitude and appreciation to everyone who demonstrated wisdom, patience, and a commitment to peace during the recent events surrounding the vehicle that became the subject of public discussion.
I would like to begin by clarifying that my live broadcast was never intended to request a new vehicle or seek a replacement gift. Its sole purpose was to address information that had been circulating publicly and to provide clarification in a respectful and transparent manner. If my remarks were misunderstood or caused any unintended concern, I sincerely apologize.
What followed was a remarkable demonstration of responsible leadership and community unity. Through peaceful consultation and constructive dialogue, elders, youth leaders, friends, and respected members of the community came together to discuss the matter and reached a collective decision to present me with another vehicle. I am deeply grateful to everyone who participated in this process and contributed to a peaceful resolution.
I accepted this gesture not because of the material value of the vehicle but because it represents the collective will of a community that chose dialogue, mutual respect, and reconciliation. The Tonj community is greater than any individual**, and when a decision is reached through broad consultation and goodwill, it deserves to be received with humility and respect.
I also wish to express my heartfelt appreciation to my beloved Twic Mayardit community leadership in Juba , Angelo Ngot Mayar Kuot, for the unwavering support , encouragement, understanding, and solidarity shown throughout this period. He played his role as leader and an elder and reached out to Tonj community leader to resolve the issue in mutual understanding , Your support has been a powerful reminder that our shared identity and unity remain our greatest source of s
