VP Bol Mel meets Somali ambassador, discusses strengthening trade ties

Vice President Benjamin Bol Mel on Wednesday met with Jamal Hassan Khalif, the ambassador of Somalia to South Sudan, to discuss ways of deepening economic and bilateral relations between the two countries, his office said.

The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, and infrastructure connectivity. Both leaders agreed to develop a formal trade framework aimed at ensuring mutual benefits, strengthening institutional ties, and promoting long-term investment confidence.

Bol praised ambassador Khalif for his commitment and urged Somali investors to expand their ventures beyond trade by investing in industries that create jobs and build local capacity in South Sudan.

He reaffirmed that the government of President Salva Kiir Mayardit remains open to investors from friendly nations as it works toward building a resilient and inclusive economy.

MAKOROU involves an accident with minor injuries at JIA road

A South Sudanese Online influential journalist Thomas Makorou was reported involved in fatal accident at Juba International Airport road with minor injuries.
In post seen on Facebook posted by Athiei Malou confirmed that Makorou was taken to hospital and the victim he knocked was alive receiving the same treatment.
"Dear Public, our brother Thomas Makorou was involved in an accident this evening around airport road and he proceeded with the car until he was stopped by the security personnel in Mandisin. My brother Deng Amos Bak just confirmed to me now over the phone that the person knocked down by Thon is alive and sound with minor injuries," Athiei added.
Over the mixed reactions expressed by the followers of Makorou some said Thomas has never involved in an accident before.
"Thomas Makorou has never knocked down a cat or a dog leave alone person maybe the cause of this incident may have come from pressure he got from his opposition I mean those who called him sycophant," Madiak Dak Akuchpir.

"The Ancestors of the land aren't happy.
Our parents didn't enrol us to sycophants schools but to really schools with expectations that we would change the situations they are facing, one day, " Makur Mayor Nyindier added.

Breaking news:Women calls on 1995 age group to get marry

A young women in Juba has publicly called on all men and women born in 1995 to consider settling down and getting married.

Speaking during a community gathering on Monday, Madeline Samuel John said many people of that age group are now mature enough to start families and contribute positively to society.

“Our age-mates are turning 30 this year; it’s time we think seriously about marriage and building stable homes,” she said.

"Earlier marriage is too bad particularly to young boys of 2005, you're not qualified enough to have wife instead of going to school and become responsible, " she concluded.

Her remarks have since caused reactions on social media, with many supporting her call while others argue that marriage should come by personal readiness rather than age.

Wind blows girl mini–skirt leaving her naked in public

A 25 years years old lady was left shoked in Konyo–Konyo market this afternoon when wind blew up her mini skirt leaving her naked in the public.
In situation giving mass shoking occured when a lady put mini skirt wear and walked her head up when unfortunate wind emerged and flate up her dress leaving pant in public watch.

Upon in the scene, lady tried harder to rescued herself by pulling down her dress while seated on ground. Over the reactions some people passing by expressed mixed reaction.
"This wind has made it, we told our daughters to put long skirt but they only ignored us, now she got the rewards of her doing," said by woman in scene.
"You got what you want now fly, if you've have wings or cover our eyes not to see your nakedness, " said boda rider.

Breaking News:Eritrean National kills colleague over unpaid debt

Police in Wau, Western Bahr el Ghazal State, have arrested an Eritrean businessman accused of killing his colleague over an unpaid debt of 20,000 US dollars.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, the state police spokesperson, Major Santino Udol Mayen, confirmed that the suspect is in custody and under investigation.

“We have arrested the Eritrean national who killed his colleague after failing to repay a credit of 20,000 US dollars,” Major Mayen said.
He explained that the suspect had previously been arrested but was released to allow him to work and repay the debt.
“The suspect was released a few months ago. He later met his colleague in a bar, where an argument broke out. He stabbed the victim with a knife, and the victim succumbed to his injuries while being taken to the hospital,” Major Mayen added.

Authorities have urged business owners to avoid lending large sums of money that could lead to such violent confrontations.

A 30 years young lady residing in Mia Saba, Central Equatoria State has warrant an arrest to her long time boyfriend who dated her for more than 15 years in relationship since she was 15.

In due reaction seen in Demoon Lodge and Bar on Saturday, a young lady whom her name withheld walked in to the bar with 6 security personnels searching her boyfriend to be arrested.
According to her, she described that in relationship she turned down some many men who asked her in marriage hoping he will get marry to him at the end of May but since now in October without sign of marriage arranged when she was 15 year dated period.
" I want him get arrested this man has done so much in my life, I have denied many serious men who wanted to marry me but I refused knowinng we mounted together," she said in frontange of Demoon manager.

Demoon Manager stressed, you were seen happily few days back what happened wanting him arrested.
" The person you're searching didn't come here again seen three days you left and now you came with furious anger do you guys wnat to fight in front of my customers, please leave your boyfriend is not her," said Demoon Manager.

🚨Breaking News:MAYEN’S newly wedded bride found safe

The newly wedded wife of businessman Mayen Yai Angok Duok has been safely located after being reported missing for several days.
In a statement issued by the family, it was confirmed that Abuong, also known as Sunday Alfred, has safely returned to her parents’ home.
“The family of Mayen Yai Angok is here to announce that Abuong, also known as Sunday Alfred, has safely returned to her parents’ home as of yesterday,” said Malith Yai, a family representative.
He further urged the public to disregard circulating rumours suggesting that she had been taken by another man.
“The family appeals to everyone on social media to disregard false information and continue to show respect to both families,” Malith added.

The family expressed gratitude to Abuong’s parents for ensuring her safe return and to all those who supported them during the period of uncertainty.

Breaking News:Tsunami claims one life in Manyiel Akok Boma

A 9-year-old boy identified to be Wol Garang Athuai got drowned today at Lolkou village in Manyiel Akok Boma of Aweil East County.
Speaking to eye witnesses, this morning they said a boy was sent to Nyinken village with dura to the grinding point by his maternal grandma when incident occured.

"The boy after he reached the center, he put the dura to be grind and left to take bath with another boy whom he was sent with. Unfortunately, he dove into the water and he didn't emerge, " said eye–witness.
He said the incident sent a terrible shoking when people ran to the scent searching for the body for almost two hours until he was found drowned while still bleeding with blood from his nose and mouth.
He stressed in the same day grandma passed away on spot leaving double shocked.
"When he was taken home for burial, another sad news was received before the body reached home, that the drowned boy's paternal grandma died too which is something very unfortunate to happen consecutively in the same family.

Authorities are cautioning the families living the rivers bank to take care of their children in this fishing reasons to avoid more incident.

Breaking News:Coffin seller decries lack of customers

Coffin dealers in Munuki, Central Equatoria State, have expressed concern over the lack of customers at the beginning of this month, saying it has become difficult to survive in the current economic situation.

During a visit to Munuki Market, one of the dealers, Jacob Yaga Bulis, described how challenging the month has been for his business.
“Sincerely speaking, my brother, I can’t afford your school fees because the business is going down. We haven’t received any customers to buy coffins,” said Bulis.

His remarks drew attention from passersby, who were left surprised as they overheard him speaking loudly outside his shop.
