South Sudanese Artist Molana Larson Angok Promises New Song in Honor of Fellow Musicians Who Celebrated Aweil Community
Renowned South Sudanese artist and legal activist, Molana Larson Angok Garang, aka South Sudan Putin, has announced his intention to dedicate a special song to fellow musicians who recently honored the Aweil community with their musical talents. The announcement was made via his official page this evening in a heartfelt post that has since drawn wide praise from fans and fellow artists alike.
In his message, Molana Larson expressed deep gratitude to the artists who composed and performed songs in celebration of his home state, Northern Bahr El Ghazal, calling the gesture “a great honor to the people of Aweil.”
“Even if I have nothing to give you,” he wrote, “I will offer my talent to do the same respect you did to my community.”
He went on to name and thank the artists individually, including Kimo Makem, Mathuch Baak Deng aka Ajiing Maker Jr., PG Machar, Santos Malong Amiir, Makou bil music, Aleu Malër, Magai Lok, Pastor OG, Big Boss VIP, Achuei Deng Ajiing, Cherry Long, Bro Winner, and many others.
“These musicians have touched the hearts of the Aweil community and uplifted the spirit of unity through music,” Molana stated. “Music plays a crucial role in fostering peace, love, and togetherness in society. We are gifted with this talent not for fame, but to serve as ambassadors of peace.”
As a token of appreciation, Larson pledged to compose and dedicate songs to the communities these artists represent — a move aimed at fostering national unity and cultural appreciation across South Sudan.
“I believe it is now my turn to reward you back. I will do it sooner,” he added.
Beyond the music, Larson used his platform to call on all South Sudanese citizens to champion peace and reconciliation, citing the painful history of the country’s civil wars and ongoing crises.
“Our country has endured enough — from 21 years of civil war to the 2013 and 2016 conflicts. Each one of us must contribute to the peace and stability of our glorious South Sudan.”
Molana Larson Angok Garang, known for blending his legal background with musical activism, concluded his statement by reaffirming his commitment to promoting unity through art.
