ST. LUKE AULUIC CATHOLIC CHURCH ✝️

We are Christians. We are Community. We are Family.

The labels that bring division have no place in the house of God. The walls that separate us are the same walls that delay the blessing of our church.

WHY WE MUST REBUILD TOGETHER.

1. In Unity there is Strength
When we pull together, the burden becomes light. When we divide, even a small task becomes impossible.

2.In Unity there is Peace
Christ did not die for County or Payam. He died for all of us. Our church must reflect that same love.

3. In Unity there is Progress
A church built with one heart will stand. A church built with many hearts fighting will fall.

OUR COMMITMENT

Today we choose to:
~Put God first- This is His house, not ours
~Put community first - This is for our children and grandchildren
~Put peace first- No more division, no more blame

CLARIFICATION ON CHURCH REBUILDING CONTRIBUTIONS.

Auluic St. Luke's Catholic Church ✝️ - NBGs, Aweil.

Dear Beloved Community,

We have received questions regarding the mention of **County** and **Payam** in our church rebuilding appeal. We would like to bring clarity:

1. The Scope of This Appeal is International.

The call to rebuild our community church is **not limited to one County or one Payam**. This is a work for **the whole Body of Christ and all people of goodwill, locally and internationally.

We believe God’s house belongs to everyone. Therefore, sons and daughters of this community living in Juba, other states, and in the diaspora are all invited to contribute and be part of this blessing.

2. .

The only reason we included **County** and **Payam** in our communications is **for location identification purposes**.
It helps people, partners, and organizations both in South Sudan and abroad to clearly know *where the church is physically located* for accountability, logistics, and legal documentation.

It does **not** mean that the responsibility or ownership of this project belongs to the County or Payam administration alone.

*A CALL TO REBUILD OUR COMMUNITY CHURCH TOGETHER *

AULUIC ST. LUKE CATHOLIC CHURCH. ✝️

Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, Aweil Centre County, Auluic Payam.

Dear Beloved Community Members, Youths, Elders, Mothers, Fathers, and Friends, of AULUIC

Grace and peace to you all.

It is with both a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit that I write to you today.

Our community church, the place where we have prayed together, cried together, celebrated weddings, dedicated children, mourned our loved ones, and found strength in God’s word, has *totally collapsed*. The walls that once sheltered us, the roof that kept us dry in the rain, and the altar where we met God are now in ruins.

This is more than just a building. This church is the heartbeat of our community. It is where our youths learn discipline and purpose. It is where our elders find fellowship. It is where we come together as one family, beyond tribe, beyond background.

*But God is not finished with us.*
A collapsed building does not mean a collapsed faith. If anything, this is our moment to rise, to rebuild, and to show the strength of our unity.

*WE NEED YOU*

To build our church again, we cannot do it alone. We are calling on every hand, every heart, and every resource we can gather.

*To Our Youths*

This is YOUR church too. The future of this community rests on you. We are calling on you to lead.

*To Everyone*
Let us not wait for "someone else" to do it. The early church in Acts gave willingly, and together they built something that changed the world. We can do the same here in South Sudan.

Friends, a church is not just walls. It is people. And our people are strong. Let this collapse become the foundation for something even more beautiful, a testimony that when we come together, God builds through us.

Let us meet this need with love, unity, and action

May God bless you richly for your generosity.
May He bless our community.

President Salva Kiir Mayardit has mourned the passing of Hon. Salvatore Garang Mabiordit, who died on Aug. 20, 2026, at AMI Clinic in Juba.

In a condolence message dated 21st, August, President Kiir described Mabiordit as a dedicated public servant and seasoned technocrat, praising his distinguished service in government and extending condolences to his family, the Kuac community, colleagues, and all South Sudanese.

He said the late legacy of humility and public service would continue to inspire future generations.

Jiel Jiel Dhieu is a young man who reflects the values, strength, and heart of our Community. Jiel 'S the Son of our respected Chairperson Of Awiil Community, Rtd.Gen. Mariano Jiel Dhieu
he has grown up surrounded by dedication to public service, yet he has carved out his own path as an inspiration to us all. His humility, leadership, and genuine love for our people make him a beacon of hope for our Community's future.

Northern Bahr el Ghazal (NBGs) – Aweil, South Sudan

Discover Aweil — the heart of Northern Bahr el Ghazal.

Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, commonly known as NBGs, is one of the states of South Sudan and part of the historic Bahr el Ghazal region. Its capital city is Aweil, a growing urban centre known for its rich history, resilient people, cultural diversity and economic activities.

Aweil serves as the administrative and commercial centre of the state and is also the headquarters of Aweil Centre County. The city has important facilities, including a railway station, airport, hotels, health facilities, schools, churches and a football ground. It also hosts humanitarian organizations and the United Nations Mission in South Sudan.

Government and Administration

Northern Bahr el Ghazal has historically been administered by several governors and acting governors. The state is currently led by Governor CharlesMadut Akol .

The state is administratively divided into five counties:

- Aweil North — Gok Machar
- Aweil East — Wanyjok
- Aweil South — Malek Alel
- Aweil West — Nyamlel
- Aweil Central — Aweil Town

The counties are further divided into payams and bomas, forming the grassroots administrative structure of the state.

Transportation

Aweil has long been an important transportation centre in the region. The town has major roads connecting it with surrounding areas, while the railway provides a historic connection toward Wau.

The Aweil Railway Station is part of the railway line constructed during the colonial period. After years of disruption caused by conflict, railway services and infrastructure were restored around 2010.

Aweil is also served by Aweil Airport, which provides an important link between the town and other parts of South Sudan, particularly Juba.

Education

Education continues to play an important role in the development of Aweil and Northern Bahr el Ghazal.

More Than 100 Cartons of Tramadol Confiscated in Aweil

Police in Aweil have confiscated more than 100 cartons of Tramadol in an ongoing operation against the illegal sale and distribution of the drug.

Northern Bahr el Ghazal State Police Commissioner Maj. Gen. Gabriel Guet Padiet said the operation has so far led to the seizure of the drugs, while police continue searching for additional suspects believed to be involved in their distribution.

Maj. Gen. Guet said the sale of Tramadol is not allowed in Aweil because of concerns over its abuse, particularly among young people, and its harmful effects on individuals and the wider community.

He said the police will continue monitoring drug dealers and taking action against those involved in the illegal sale and distribution of Tramadol.

The commissioner called on residents to cooperate with law enforcement by reporting individuals involved in the trafficking and sale of the drug.
