The able Chairperson of Aweil students’ Association Veronica Akuot Mariano Jiel together with Secretary General Rech Garang Rech and deputy secretary for information Cycillia Adut Ngong paid a visit to MP. Honorable minister of General Education and Instruction this morning.

The Chairperson with her team have visited the MP. Honorable minister Akoon Diing Angok in his office at the state ministry of General education and Instruction this morning to discuss the students’ concerns and highlighted him with the up and coming graduation ceremony that will be conducted in the state coming months.

The Honourable minister appreciated the visit and welcomed the students’ leadership to his office with open arms stating that the ministry of General education and instruction is for all the students regardless of level mentioning that no student would reach university without passing through the higher education under the ministry of General education and Instruction. He also stressed that students should value the stage the have reached in pursuing the studies despite the challenges facing them.
Honorable minister assured the students’ leadership of his supports and appreciated the initiative concerning Graduation ceremony promising that he will support the ceremony with full commitment with the help of state government.

The students’ leadership appreciated the advice and support rendering by the Honourable minister of state ministry of General education and Instruction.

Aweil Students’ Association leadership in University of Bahr el Ghazal had visited Honourable minister of local government Honorable minister Bol Akoon Akoon in his office yesterday the 2nd of May 2026

The leadership led by her able chairperson Veronica Akuot Mariano Jiel with Secretary General Rech Garang Rech and deputy secretary for information Cycillia Adut Ngong paid a visit to the ministry of local government of Northern Bahr el Ghazal state to address the minister with the challenges students are facing in the University.

The Honorable minister welcomed the association’s leadership and encourage them to work hard hand in hand with the government and his office in order to put to an end to the challenges facing students. He also advised that the students should put the studies as the first priority in their educational lives despite the challenges they might face.

The minister promised the students leadership that he would do what he could do with the help of state government to erase the challenges facing the students in their studies.

The ASA-UBG Chairperson with her team appreciated the welcoming of the students’ leadership by the Honourable minister and promised to take the Honourable minister's advices not lightly. The leadership also stressed that the support by the ministry of local government to the students is much welcomed by both the students’ leadership and the students at large.

Aweil Students’ Association leadership in University of Bahr el Ghazal had on Monday the 1st of May 2026 met with His Worship Mayor of Aweil town, Northern Bahr el Ghazal state Honourable Mayor Garang Deng Diing.
The leadership of ASA-UBG led by her able leader Chairperson of ASA-UBG Veronica Akuot Mariano Jiel accompanied by Secretary General of ASA-UBG Rech Garang Rech met with His Worship Mayor to discuss challenges facing students at the campus.
The town Mayor appreciated the visit and encouraged the students not to lose hope in the government and promised that the government will stand and support the students by addressing their challenges as soon as possible.
The Chairperson, her able leader Veronica Akuot Mariano thanked the Worship Mayor for his kind welcoming and assure him that the students will appreciate the support and will stand with the government of the state.
Also Secretary General Rech Garang appreciated the Mayor for his kind gesture towards the association and assured His Worship Mayor that any support from the government and from his office as the town Mayor will not go unnoticed by the students.
The leadership appreciated the town Mayor and the government of Northern Bahr el Ghazal state during their fruitful meetings.

BREAKING NEWS: Garang Athian Appointed Assistant Commissioner for Refugee Affairs in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State
