📷BREAKING: One Dies in Road Accident Involving Vice President Hussein Abdelbagi’s Convoy

A convoy of Vice President Hussein Abdelbagi Ayii was reportedly involved in a tragic road accident at Malualkon Roundabout in Aweil East County.

According to preliminary information on ground, one member of the Vice President’s protocol team died at the scene.

The cause of the accident remains unknown, and authorities have not yet provided further details.

Aweil Students’ Association leadership in University of Bahr el Ghazal had visited Honourable minister of local government Honorable minister Bol Akoon Akoon in his office yesterday the 2nd of May 2026

The leadership led by her able chairperson Veronica Akuot Mariano Jiel with Secretary General Rech Garang Rech and deputy secretary for information Cycillia Adut Ngong paid a visit to the ministry of local government of Northern Bahr el Ghazal state to address the minister with the challenges students are facing in the University.

The Honorable minister welcomed the association’s leadership and encourage them to work hard hand in hand with the government and his office in order to put to an end to the challenges facing students. He also advised that the students should put the studies as the first priority in their educational lives despite the challenges they might face.

The minister promised the students leadership that he would do what he could do with the help of state government to erase the challenges facing the students in their studies.

The ASA-UBG Chairperson with her team appreciated the welcoming of the students’ leadership by the Honourable minister and promised to take the Honourable minister's advices not lightly. The leadership also stressed that the support by the ministry of local government to the students is much welcomed by both the students’ leadership
