Armed Youth Clash with SSPDF Forces in Unity State, Leaving One Dead and Three Injured

Unity State, South Sudan. A deadly confrontation erupted on Thursday morning when armed youth attacked a South Sudan People's Defense Forces (SSPDF) barracks at Mayom Junction, near the Sudan border.

According to the Unity State Minister of Communication and Information, the assault resulted in the death of one SSPDF officer, while three others sustained injuries.

Authorities are yet to disclose the motive behind the attack as investigations are underway.

PRESIDENT KIIR LEAVES FOR ADDISS ABABA TO PARTICIPATE AT AU SUMMIT

JUBA, FEBRUARY 𝟏𝟒𝐭𝐡, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 --- President Salva Kiir Mayardit this afternoon travelled to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to participate in the 38th Ordinary Assembly of the Heads of State and Government for the African Union.

The Summit held under the theme 'Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations' will focus on advancing reparatory justice and fostering racial healing across the continent.

Press Secretary Lily Adhieu Martin Manyiel says while in Addis Ababa, President Kiir will hold several sideline meetings, with other leaders, including the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, to discuss the peace process in South Sudan, the Sudan's refugees in the country and issues of climate change among others.

President Kiir's participation in Summit demonstrates South Sudan’s commitment to regional cooperation, focusing on peace, security, and economic development for the African continent.

Elon Musk says Trump has agreed to shut down USAID

Elon Musk said he's spoken with US President Trump on the U.S. Agency for International Development's (USAID) and "he agreed" that "we should shut it down."

Musk's comments early Monday followed reports that representatives for Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which the billionaire is spearheading, had visited USAID's D.C. headquarters and accessed classified spaces and American citizens' data.

USAID is an independent agency of the United States government that is primarily responsible for administering civilian foreign aid and development assistance.

In South Sudan, USAID is crucial in providing humanitarian assistance, democracy and governance, economic growth, education and youth, health, and HIV prevention and care.

Warrap State Government Executed Underage Individuals Age less than 18 years by Firing Squad for Cattle Theft.

The government of Warrap State, in conjunction with local authorities in Gogrial East County Have on Friday Executed And killed a group of teenagers for cattle theft in the state as an Act of Enforcing Law and Order

Last Friday, five young boys were killed by a firing squad in Luonyaker and Yiikadoor as part of the implementation of the Green Book law in the state which was proposed Earlier in 2022 but was abandoned due to communal Misunderstandings in Warrap state.

Presidential Decrees!

1. President Kiir sacked the Governor of Western Bahr El Ghazal State, Sarah Cleto Rial, and replaced her with Emmanuel Perimo Okello.

2. President Kiir sacked the Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning, Agok Makur, and replaced him with Bec George Anyak.

This is according to the Republican decrees read on the State-owned TV, SSBC, Friday evening.
