UNITY STATE TALENT AWARDS (USTA) TEAMS MET H.E MAJOR GEN. JUSTICE RIEK BIM TOP TO DISCUSS YOUTHS ROLE IN PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT.

The Unity State Talent Awards (USTA) team held a remarkable meeting with the Governor of Unity State, Hon. Justice Riek Bim Top, to discuss how young people can be agents of peace and positive change through agriculture and other community-driven initiatives.

During the meeting, Governor Riek Bim Top welcomed the USTA delegation with appreciation for their efforts in recognizing and empowering youth talent. He emphasized the critical role of young people in shaping the future of Unity State and South Sudan as a whole.

“Youths are the backbone of our society,” the Governor Bim said. “Through hard work, discipline, and innovation, you have the power to transform Unity State. Agriculture is one key area where you can leads the way and build peace through productivity.”

The USTA team, known for celebrating local talents through annual awards, shared their commitment for using arts, music, education, and creativity to inspire Youths across Unity State. They expressed readiness to lead agricultural campaigns and peace awareness programs, particularly targeting young people in schools and communities.

Governor Riek Bim Top assured the team of his full support and called for more collaboration between youth groups, government institutions, and NGOs to empower young people with tools, resources, and skills needed to thrive.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to work together in fostering peace, unity, and development in the state—starting with youth-led agricultural and social initiatives.

𝐉𝐮𝐛𝐚,𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓– President Salva Kiir Mayardit met with Riek Biem Top, the Governor of Unity State, to discuss the increasing concerns about the impending floods that have adversely affected the state.

Governor Riek called for collaboration with the Minister of Petroleum and the Managing Director of NilePet to attract investments in key social services areas such as health and other supporting infrastructures to ensure connectivity and economic integration of the communities.

President Kiir called for an effective and responsive mechanism on how revenues collected from oil resources are utilized to transform positively the lives of the populace.
