What might a young girl say when she sees a young gentleman with tears in his eyes not tears of love or joy, but tears from losing hope?
It is emotionally significant when a man cries, because society often expects men to hide their feelings. Many women may find it hard to understand this, as it is often believed that no matter how sad a man is, he will only cry on the inside. But sometimes, the problems and struggles he faces become too much, and he loses hope, letting his tears show.
My brothers had big dreams because their communities, schools, and churches told them they were the leaders of tomorrow. But now, they see no future and no leaders in themselves. If young men aren’t being killed, something else is destroying them. The few who try to become leaders often end up corrupted and lose their way and focus.
A poor soldier worries about feeding his family, paying school fees, and buying nice clothes for his wife, even spending time with his family, but he has no options. A young man sees himself growing up fast but has no opportunities, no job, and no connections to help him since he has no uncle to do that stuck with papers in their hands. Nothing can stop the tears of your brothers, cousins and husbands at all.
