What might a young girl say when she sees a young gentleman with tears in his eyes not tears of love or joy, but tears from losing hope?

It is emotionally significant when a man cries, because society often expects men to hide their feelings. Many women may find it hard to understand this, as it is often believed that no matter how sad a man is, he will only cry on the inside. But sometimes, the problems and struggles he faces become too much, and he loses hope, letting his tears show.

My brothers had big dreams because their communities, schools, and churches told them they were the leaders of tomorrow. But now, they see no future and no leaders in themselves. If young men aren’t being killed, something else is destroying them. The few who try to become leaders often end up corrupted and lose their way and focus.

A poor soldier worries about feeding his family, paying school fees, and buying nice clothes for his wife, even spending time with his family, but he has no options. A young man sees himself growing up fast but has no opportunities, no job, and no connections to help him since he has no uncle to do that stuck with papers in their hands. Nothing can stop the tears of your brothers, cousins and husbands at all.

GOV. GEN. JAMES KOANG CHUOL VISITS BUOL/BUREBIEY-NASIR TOWN, AND RENEWED HIS CALLS FOR PEACE AND STABILITY IN NASIR COUNTY.

Nasir, 14th - May - 2025 — Earlier today, the Governor of Upper Nile State, His Excellency Lt. Gen. James Koang Chuol Ranley, visited Buol/Burebiey, a border zone bordering Ethiopia, and subsequently landed in Nasir Town, Nasir County.

In his briefing remarks, His Excellency Gov. Gen. James Koang thanked the Army Comanders for the warm welcomes, and commended SSPDF for restoring law and order in Nasir County, Upper Nile State. Equally, His Excellency the Governor, appealed to the citizens of Nasir who fled their homes to return, as calm has returned to the County.

Gov. Gen. James Koang was accompanied by Senior Security Officers, among others.

University of Juba set to reopen in June, administration announced

The University of Juba has announced that the new academic year for senior classes (2024–2025) will commence on Monday, June 2, 2025. According to a notice from the Academic Registrar, Prof. Mairi J. Blackings, registration will run from May 19 to May 31, 2025.

The schedule applies to all regular degree, diploma, and evening program senior classes.

The administration has urged all schools to ensure that examination results, including supplementary and substitute results, are finalized before registration begins.

Registration Opens for First-Year Students at UBG

Registration for first-year students at the University of Bahr el Ghazal (UBG) began yesterday, May 8, 2025. Prof. Magok, the Academic Registrar, shared important details with Aweil News Agency.

Prof. Magok explained that first-year students need to bring several documents for their registration, including proof of nationality, a birth certificate, the original secondary school certificate, and tuition fees.

However, due to rising inflation in the country, he noted that the university understands if students can only pay a reduced amount toward their tuition fees.

He expressed gratitude to the students who registered yesterday and encouraged those who haven't registered yet to do so quickly.

He reminded everyone that classes will begin after the senior students register in mid-June 2025.

Prof. Marial concluded his message by congratulating the new students and reminding them about the importance of paying their tuition fees.

A letter from the registration office outlined the tuition fees for different colleges.

General admission students are required to pay the following amounts:

- College of Education: 1,100,000 SSP

- College of Economics: 1,600,000 SSP

- College of Medicine: 1,800,000 SSP

- College of Veterinary Medicine: 1,500,000 SSP

- College of Public Health: 1,600,000 SSP

- College of Agriculture: 1,600,000 SSP

- College of Nursing: 1,600,000 SSP

For private and mature students, the tuition fees are higher:

- College of Medicine: 6,375,000 SSP

- College of Economics: 3,100,000 SSP

- College of Veterinary Medicine: 5,275,000 SSP

- College of Agriculture: 2,970,000 SSP

- College of Public Health: 1,800,000 SSP

- College of Education: 1,400,000 SSP

- College of Nursing: 1,500,000 SSP

Students are urged to ensure they have all required documents and fees ready for a smooth registration process.
