BREAKING: Kenyan veteran politician Raila Odinga has passed away in India. The Former Prime Minister, who had been undergoing treatment in Kochi, passed away on October 15, 2025.
He was taken to Devamatha Hospital in Koothattukulam where he was pronounced dead.
Odinga who was known as “Baba,” was a figure in Kenyan politics.
He was a longtime champion of electoral reform and multiracial democracy; he once served as prime minister (2008–2013) and led the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
He has unsuccessfully run for president five times – in 1997, 2007, 2013, 2017, and 2022.
