Twic Mayardit Community in Kuajok Holds Meeting to Mourn Veteran Leader Bona Malual Madut Ring.

The Twic Mayardit Community in Kuajok convened a special meeting at Nairasha Hotel to eulogize the late veteran politician and journalist, Bona Malual Madut Ring, who passed away at the age of 93.

The meeting, shared by Twic Mayardit Community Leader Ustaz Ngor Akech Makuac, focused on preparations ahead of the burial arrangements and discussed ways to honor the legacy of the late statesman.

Addressing the gathering, Ustaz Ngor Akech urged all Twic citizens to remain united, courageous, and strong during this difficult moment, describing the death of Bona Malual as a painful and great loss to the entire South Sudanese nation.

He praised the late Bona Malual as a respected elder whose wisdom, humility, and commitment to national unity and development inspired generations across South Sudan.

Protocol Officer Reinstated in First Lady's Office

JUBA – Sources indicate that Manut Madut Kiir has been reinstated to his position as Protocol Protection Officer in the office of the First Lady, Mama Mary Ayen Mayardit.

The move sees Manut return to his previous duties providing protocol and security services within the First Lady's official capacity.

BREAKING: Veteran Politician Bona Malwal dies at 97

Veteran journalist and politician Bona Malwal Madut Ring has passed away at the age of 97, his family has confirmed.

Malwal, a respected community leader of Twic Mayardit, was among the pioneers of journalism in South Sudan and a prominent voice in the country’s political landscape.

He served as Sudan’s Minister of Culture and Information from May 1973 to July 1978, and was widely known for his strong advocacy for self-determination and the eventual independence of South Sudan.

His passing marks the end of an era for one of the most influential figures in South Sudan’s political and Journalism history.

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hon. Bona Malual Madut Ring, a veteran South Sudanese politician, elder statesman, and one of the founding voices for peace, unity, and nationhood in our beloved Republic of South Sudan 🇸🇸.

Hon. Bona Malual dedicated his life to the service of his people and the pursuit of justice, dialogue, and reconciliation. His wisdom, patriotism, and unwavering commitment to the cause of South Sudan will forever be remembered.

Good News : Mama Mary Ayen Mayardit, Donated a Community Radio Station in Akon Amid Request of Awan Chan Community Leadership

Awan Chan Community leadership has announced the allocation and establishment of a community radio station at the grassroots level Akon to amplify local voices and preserve indigenous cultures.

This radio initiative will prioritize community needs, broadcasting in Dinka, English, Arabic and other local languages, while focusing on peacebuilding, civic education and oral traditions.

The project is expected to start in the first week of November 2025 in Akon while the local authorities are urging the authorities concern not for this project to be like Akon International airport.

This community radio aims to create local media partnerships “by and for South Sudanese” to counter misinformation and cultural erosion.

The team on their last week assessment to Akon, expressed their gratitude to the people of Awan Chan for their warm reception and the implementation of the land allocation for the radio station. Sultan Agoth Nyal Chan and other important personalities were present at the reception. The land is allocated in the Akon area, near to the Youth Center.

The team was led by Daniel Mareng, Secretary General of Awan Chan Community in Juba; Thiep Mawien Thiep, Chairperson of the Awan Rup Youth Association in Juba; and Mrs. Adut Deng Juach, NRA representative.
