The United States announced its support for adding two permanent seats for African countries on the UN Security Council and a non-permanent seat for a small island developing nation. US Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield emphasized the need for African representation, reflecting US President Joe Biden's 2022 pledge to expand the 15-member council.

However, the US continues to oppose granting veto power to the new African members, citing concerns over inefficiency.

The call for reforming the UN body has persisted since 1979, with global leaders pushing for a more representative council, though disagreements remain on how to achieve this.

The US also supports permanent seats for Latin America and the Caribbean, along with Germany, Japan, and India.

Zari Hassan has apologised to her husband, Shakib Lutaaya, admitting that her recent social media outbursts were a result of frustration.

Speaking to the media, Zari explained that she is in Kampala to reunite with her husband and acknowledged that her actions were misguided.

โ€œThings happen... God created us to make mistakes... We make mistakes... But after you reflect and realise you went overboard,โ€ Zari said, before adding, โ€œIโ€™m a stubborn woman. Iโ€™m an independent woman... Iโ€™m Zari the BossLady... But, in all honesty, I made a mistake... I had my frustrations.โ€

Zari admitted that she took to social media to vent due to a build-up of frustrations, admitting that she chose the โ€œwrong platformโ€ to express her feelings. She reiterated that her actions were driven by her emotional state at the time.

Back in August, Zari had taken to social media to remind her husband, Shakib Lutaaya, of his relatively minor role in her life, urging him to be cautious in their relationship. Her frustration was sparked when Shakib expressed displeasure over her hosting Diamond Platnumz, the father of her child. Diamond had travelled to South Africa to attend the birthday celebration of Tifah, the daughter he shares with Zari.

Zari was taken aback by Shakibโ€™s reaction, noting that she was not involved in arranging Diamondโ€™s visit to South Africa. She hinted that Diamond might have coordinated with some individuals she lives with to gain access to her home. According to Zari, Shakib overreacted upon seeing Diamond at the party, questioning her whereabouts and suggesting that she still had feelings for Diamond.

Zari also disclosed that Diamond, with whom she shares two children, continues to provide financial support for their kids. She questioned Shakibโ€™s contributions to their relationship, questioning why she constantly has to prove herself to him.

Adding to the tension, a leaked phone conversation circulating on social media captured Zari telling Shakib not to visit her in South Africa.

Despite the turmoil, the couple was seen embracing during Jose Chameleoneโ€™s concert at the Kampala Serena Hotel on Saturday, August 31.

Premier League clubs voted 19 vs 1 in favour keeping VAR, with Wolves the only club to back their motion.

It was also agreed that improvements should be made for the benefit of game and supporters, PL confirms.
