We South Sudanese have become a mockery of ourselves.
Last year, when Diamond Platnumz disrespected W***y Paul of Kenya, all Kenyan Gen Zs demanded a public apology—and his performance was even canceled. No Kenyan wanted to listen to his music after that.
But as for us Sudos, when our artists are disrespected, we are the first to amplify the disrespect. Rayvanny disrespected Alijoma by calling him a "wedding artist" and "the bleached guy,"😅 yet instead of demanding an apology, we mocked Alijoma even more.
Last year, Davido disrespected our entire country, and nobody spoke up. In fact, some even began questioning whether we deserved independence from Sudan.
Our own Dj-Cent was beaten in Uganda when he tried to take a picture with Eddy Kenzo on stage—and instead of standing with him, the whole country mocked him. The same thing happened when Silver X tried to take a photo with R***r, and South Sudanese bouncers threw him out as if he was an upcoming artist from Torit.😅
We can’t even begin to talk about the constant disrespect John Frog faces—disrespect that we only exaggerate by mocking him further. Now, there’s a Sebo chopping Hani Breva, and still, no one has come to her rescue.
Let me close with a proverb from Ezo County: "The hand that does not choose what it eats will suffer when diarrhea strikes."
